7 reviews for Hilton Garden Inn Redding, Redding
guaranteed reservation not available
By Joe, 01/14/10
Traveling from San Diego area to Shasta for a funeral. Since Redding was close to my destination and they had a hilton, I booked the room. My brother and I traveled 10 hours to the hotel, upon arrival found out 2 beds are not available. The only availability was a handicap room with a rollout bed. This did not fit our needs, the lady on duty refused a refund. Needless to say we were upset, she didn't care and threatened to charge my card twice since she considered me rude. We traveled to shasta and stayed at the best western. I returned yesterday from my trip checked my bank account and sure enough she charged me for 2 nights stay. The hilton should not associate their name with this hotel. It will take hilton 48 hours to research and determine if I get my money back. The GM could not make a decision.

Great value for the money
By Margot, 02/05/09
Room was very clean and quiet. Carpet was clean. We had a lovely view of the river and mountains. Freshly baked cookies available at the front desk in the evening. Restaurant serves a marvelous steak and features excellent local wine. Service in the restaurant was near perfection. Husband ordered wine/vinegar for salad dressing. Waitress correctly assumed that because of that, he would enjoy oil and vinegar with his bread. She added fresh basil to the oil and vinegar, making it extra flavorful. Our only (very minor) complaint would be that the hotel tvs do not carry the three major networks. Highly recommend this hotel.

Staff was superb!
By Mountain, 02/04/09
We enjoyed our stay in Redding. We had a large group of family staying in the Hilton, and the staff was very accomidating, friendly, and courteous. The rooms were so nice, we had everything we needed. I definitely will stay there again.

CLEAN! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/07
Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable and had 4 fluffy pillows. Linens on bed smelled fresh. The extra blanket and pillow in closet was in a plastic bag cover and also smelled fresh. Hotel had a really cute cafe in lobby with linen napkins. Hotel offered fresh baked cookies at the front desk in the evening. Room had micro, mini fridge and coffee maker with starbucks coffee packs. Would definitely stay there again. Staff was friendly. Location was away from downtown area but was worth it.

I always stay here on business
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/24/06
I've tried numerous other Redding hotels as I travel there on business regularly. I've settled on this place as it is the cleanest and most up-to-date hotel in the area. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The price is right, also. Although I'm used to staying at hotels where breakfast is included, paying for the food was fine with me as it was very good. Ask for a room that overlooks the river.

Surprised
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/07/04
We stayed here during our visit to Lake Shasta. The Hotel was almost new and during our stay the elevator was being repaired. The dinning left a lot to be desired all though we did get to know the employees there and were able to get what we needed when we needed it. They were very helpful later through our stay. I would stay there again but I would know what to expect and what to demand.

Who needs Customer Service?
By , 03/11/04
Who needs Customer Service, when your a Hilton right? At least that seems to be the attitude of the Managers at the Hilton Inn in Redding, CA. The untrained front desk attendants are obvious mirrors of their supervisor Russ Ferguson. Speaking to him, while the General Manager is out of town the hotel comes to a stand still because there is no one left in charge. The General Manager, when I finally had the chance to speak to him after many messages and attempts to get my calls returned was just as clueless as everyone else I had spoken to. It surprises me that this hotel though newly open, isn't bankrupt yet, with no attention to detail, untrained managers, and no customer service skills.
