Royale Beach And Tennis Club, South Padre Island

We spent 1 week at the Royal Beach and Tennis Club in September, 2010. We were initially really upset with the place, they closed down the entry way, forcing us to carry all of our stuff to the room. No dollys and no ramp into the building. After the shock of not being able to check in smoothly, we discovered the place was pretty nice. We had no complaints about the 1 bedroom unit, except the particle board furniture. For the price we paid, we were happy with the unit. Beach was easy to get to. We are staying there for another week this September in 2011 and are excited about staying there again.

Its just not a place for my family..... I had to write more but its so other families dont make the mistake we did. Holiday inn would be better trust us on this 1

My Wife & I have been there 4 times, and noticed service and cleanliness no problem. We live in Mchigan. and like the facilities and Beach.

Not only was our 2 bedroom condo dirty it was also poorly maintained. We observed and reported buckling floors, open electrical fixtures, and unsecured sliding doors opening to the patio. Generally, it was a very run down facility and a most disappointing experience.

Spend 2 weeks at facility over Christmas and New Years for last 3 years. Front desk lady, Porphie, is outstanding. General Manager, Shirley, is ready to answer questions and provide solutions to any problem. Pools and hot tubs are excellent. Beach access is great. Excellent facility, superior location, wonderful adventure during cold weather in north of USA.

My family stayed at the Royale hotel (not the condo part) recent. I can't speak about the condo part, which seem to get pretty positive reviews. But we thought the hotel room was disgusting, as well as uncomfortable. The sheets and towels had yellow stains on them. I think they use beige towels to try to hide some of the stains, but it could only hide so much. The floor was tile with dark grout, and the grout was stained all over the place. The shower was dirty. The furniture was old and dirty. The bed was as hard as a rock, and the only 2 pillows they provided were both flat as a pancake. We stayed over the first night because we were simply too tired to go look for someplace else to stay. But we checked out the next morning and went to another hotel for the rest of our trip. I can't believe they have the nerve to charge as much as they do for this dump of a hotel. The funny thing is, we went to another hotel that was much cheaper, yet it was much cleaner and much more comfortable. My family will NEVER return to the Royale again, and I warn everyone else to stay away. Sometimes you don't get what you pay for.
