Always San Clemente Beach Studio, San Clemente

We were referred to the San Clemente Inn from a friend who lives locally. We were greeted warmly by the front desk staff and when they noticed my mother was using a cane, they quickly offered special accommodations for her, and offered to help with our luggage. The hotel is an older one, but it is evident that they take good care of their property. The SC State Park is right behind the hotel, offering a quiet beauty of scenery. The staff had already begun decorating the lobby for Christmas, and looked SOO beautiful! My favorite place to eat during my stay was at Italian Cravings restaurant. They were so reasonably priced and gave us more food then we could eat! Another great place to eat was at the hotel, Adele's. She had live music almost every night and great dinner specials too. I would recommend this place to anyone! I will definitely be back

I am in complete agreement with the most recent reviews of this place! IT IS A DUMP!!! Everything in our room was just so dirty! The bedding, the furniture, the carpeting, the toilet, the shower - you name it, it was filthy! Furthermore, the room's A/C was not working properly and after hours of waiting for repairs, management still did not fix it to our satisfaction. My family was hot and miserable for our entire stay. There was zero compensation for our inconvenience and the staff was outrageously rude. The treatment we received from them was inexcusable! This place spoiled our vacation! We do not want others to suffer the abuses of this place, so please: AVOID THE SAN CLEMENTE INN RESORT!!!

This hotel reaked of vomit and other putrid odors. They try to make this out to be a family resort, but no family in their right minds would stay here! Even families that are not in their right minds would not stay here. The Manson family wouldn't stay here! This hotel would be just too disgusting and dispicable for them!

This hotel was awful. It was so filthy. Then to make matters worse, when I pulled back the bedcovers, the sheets were so filthy with urine stains, pubic hair, and toenail clippings. I complained to the front desk and their response was how did I know those things weren't mine?! Well, I have blonde hair and no paint on my fingernails - the pubic hair in the bed was black and the nails had red polish on them. This was the dirtiest place I've ever stayed. I don't think they had changed the sheets on the bed in quite some time - after a number of guests!

This hotel was dispicable in its filth and odor - so bad it would make a dung beetle puke. It was really gross.

This hotel is the dirtiest, most rundown hotel I have ever stayed at. A friend told me he stayed there years ago and really liked it. Upon his recommendation, I tried it. To say I was disappointed is the understatement of the year. When I expressed my displeasure to the management of the hotel, they laughed at me and told me I should have checked it out before I stayed there. Since it did not belong to any chain, I had no recourse to express my dissatisfaction. I was treated with contempt by the snobbish staff and managers. The proprietor never returned my calls either. I don't know if his employees ever forwarded my messages. Needless to say, I will never go back there. Perhaps at one time it was a good hotel, but it certainly is NOT now. They'll take your money with a smile not caring that you'll never be back.

The staff was rude. The room was dirty and uncomfortable. The price was high. There really is nothing nice to say about this place - just avoid it altogether!

This is without a doubt, the worst hotel I have ever stayed at - anywhere. The air conditioning didn't work, the staff was rude, the room was dirty, and the rates were sky high! There was absolutely nothing good about this hotel. Please don't stay at this hotel unless you like to be severely abused!!!

we stayed here 26 years ago, it was in transition from Best Western to a 'Condo Motel' we had a terrific suite overlooking the Ocean ... the location is great.

Not only was it located right next to some great beaches, but it also had very easy access to the freeway system that made getting to Disneyland and Sea World very simple. The beaches are within walking distance and are a popular surf spot. The pier is just a few blocks away which featured some great bars and restaurants. The room decor was very dated with liberal use of pink and turquoise which gave it a "grandma's house" kind of feel for my wife and I. The walls are thin enough to hear people talking loudly in the rooms around you. The lobby restaurant (Adele's) was pretty good. It had a wide variety of menu choices and a cozy laid-back atmosphere. The lobby also had a game room that I did not see being used but included billiards tables, ping-pong, foosball, etc. that all looked brand-new. There was a play set for very young kids and the pool was very nice. I believe it was due to the package we purchased, but the room was not cleaned once in the 4 days we were there. No sheets or towels were replaced or any kind of maid service. I would rate this as an average hotel because there was nothing spectacular about it, but I would probably stay there again and may recommend it to those looking for a decent hotel at a fair price.
