Excellent Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/09
I can't believe the people who write reviews about "Quality Inn" and act like they expected a 5-star, glitz treatment. Come on people - its Quality Inn, not the Hilton. If you're looking for 5-star treatment and babying, then go spend the $200/night somewhere else. For us, however, we'd gladly stay in this nice Quality Inn that's clean, comfortable, friendly, has a breakfast & a perfect location. We'll go enjoy spending the savings on souvenirs and stuff to do around the island. Get Real :)

CARLO'S BROKE INTO OUR ROOM AFTER MIDNIGHT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/09
We stayed in the Inn on the 31st. It was clean and the room was fine BUT AFTER MIDNIGHT A EMPLOYEE OF THE INN BROKE INTO OUR ROOM. It was scary. We made a complaint and recieved a very week REPLY THAT simply stated Carlo's is sorry for entering your room and sorry about any stress.

STAY away from this DOG
By Jay, 10/10/08
Greedy place, they will take your money and not worry about service at all!! Room left a LOT to be desired. You can find better hotels for the same price on the island!

We will definately stay here next time!!!
By JoL, 07/15/08
Our room was very clean and we lucked out and got a 4th floor corner room, therefore we had two windows (1 on 2 separate walls). One overlooked the seawall and the other, our balcony and the pool next door. Balcony was nice too. The a/c was very cool and we slept well. Improvements that need to be made: 1) Better insulation in the walls - we could hear our neighbors talking, every word and their tv. 2) Offer at least one meat with the breakfast. It was cereal, waffles, muffins, bagels, etc. (all bread and carbs). However, they did have protein, boiled eggs. A little pricey on Friday night vs. Saturday night. 169 vs. 199 ($30...why)

Reservation problems
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/07
I made a reservation for the night of the 26th of Jnuary '08 prior to taking a cruise the next day. The day after, I called to check on the reservation and to ask a question. They had no reservation under my name or the confirmation number. I hung up and made a reservation at Holiday Inn. When I made the reservation I gave them my credit card number and they warned that I would be charged if I did't give notice 48 hours in advance if I wanted to cancel. What if they carge me now? We will see.

Just average
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/07
We liked the location of the hotel. We walked across the street to the beach. Although, the Seawall has A LOT of traffic in the afternoon and evening. The Mexican restaurant in the parking lot had great Margaritas...Monday was Margarita Madness which were CHEAP! And we could walk back to the hotel. Fajitas were not bad either. As far as the hotel, it was as clean as it could be, smelled kind of musty. Elevators were slow. The indoor pool and hot tub had questionable cleanliness, but tolerable after a day at the nasty, smelly beaches. (I have high standards!) Nice to sit on the balcony in the room with coffee. Don't really know about the hotel food, but coffee was good. It seemed the breakfast rush was really crowded. Overall, the hotel was average. The customer service in the rest of the city was well below average. The Duck tour guy was REALLY rude...I DON'T recommend that one at all. We drove around the city on our own and saw all the sites on that tour without the rude guy! La Estacion had really good breakfast burritos and HOT Salsa Verde...Yum! If I HAD to go to Galveston again, I might stay here again. I probably won't go to Galveston again though. Port Aransas is not much further, and has better beaches. Galveston is just too much city when planning a weekend beach getaway.
