Dyea Recreation Area, Fort Richardson

This is where I went when I first started snowboarding, to learn the basics (not to fall on my bum so much!!!). The hill seemed so big at the time-! One convenient thing about the hill is its T lift- it took me a few tries to grab on to the T bar to take me up the hill but I eventually mastered it! Although, It can be quite dangerous if not used properly!! The facility is free to use and rentals are available. There is a boarding park on one side of the hill and the other, a sledding hill (in the middle, of course, area for boarding/skiing). Its fun for the whole family!! Also, there is a lodge at the bottom of the hill to warm up in and get snacks if you get hungry. Very family friendly environment! BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!! STAY WARM!
