We recently stayed at Chito Beach Resort on a trip out to the Olympic peninsula. this was to be our jumping off spot for seeing the West End, and it turned out to be the best part of our trip.
Wildlife abounds all around you here. We have seen many bald eagles, sea and river otters, Seals lounging on the rocks at low tide and even a whale or Two.
Many of the cabins have just been recently remodeled and amenities added to help keep you in touch. New large screen Sony flat panel TV's with HD satellite channels and wireless high speed internet. There are no phones in the cottages but your cell phone works pretty well here, all though I shut mine off!
We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a place to stay to get away from it all or like us a base for exploration
The view, the location, the wild life, the land, the cleanliness, the comfort, the owners, the sea, sand, surf and turf were all spectacular!! I would recomend this place to anyone I hear of going to the NW!! We had the best time and all the info and suggestions we got from the owners were spot on, from hiking trails to breakfast diners... well worth the money spent. We looked at a few other inns untill we came acros chito beach in the net and then when we drove past a few of the others we almost rented, we were sooo happy we picked Chito, Honestly, it was the best of them all and i would definetly stay again!! We loved it!!
This beautiful point of land juts north into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The sun rises on one side and sets on the other. The cabins are complete yet rustic and relaxing. Our porch and glider swing faced the beach -- we could have sat there for days, watching the birds, otters, and marine traffic.
It's a long drive from Seattle to Chito Beach, but well worth it. The Washington State highways are beautifully maintained and the scenery is spectacular the whole way. We had booked for a long weekend, but wished we could stay for a month. Our cabin was very comfortable for two, and some are family-sized. There is electricity but not a lot of other big-city amenities. Expect peace and quiet.
The owners/managers were away for the weekend, but were more than helpful in giving excellent driving directions and suggestions for local sightseeing. We had a wonderful time, and would definitely return.
