Seasonals run the asylum
I had read reviews the resorts owners were rude, mean, condescending... I decided to go anyway because Thunder is such a beautiful lake and this is the only campground on it.
I found the owners to be friendly and helpful!
Where they failed is in controlling the seasonal campers, who obviously pay all the bills for the campground, there were only a couple of us weekenders.
Our hosts assured us quiet time is 10pm to 8am STRICTLY ENFORCED. I did see them make the rounds at 10pm......at 10pm it was quiet, I thought I had found utopia.
By 11pm it was obvious the seasonal campers were absent but their juvenile children were very much in hyper mode, running and screaming up and down the road in a pack of about 8-10.
At 11:30 I knew my quiet evening was about to get loud when the woman in the seasonal trailer next to us stumbled to the shed behind her camper to load 4 cases of beer bottles, one at a time, into the extra beer fridge stashed in the shed. This took her about a half hour...I'm thinking 0.02 or better.
The boats from the bar began arriving shortly before 1AM, yes quite inebriated
Things quieted down about 2am
We were about 50 feet from the boat launch. 5:30am, its time to launch 4-5 boats with very loud pickups and head out to fish...nice alarm clock
At 6 I woke my children, hitched, packed and beat cheeks out of there. Never to return.
