Caroline Inn, Ocean Shores

,Homeless shelter would have been better,mold in tub and tile,shower was stained and gross,pillows shams had huge yellow stains on them,curtains in master bedroom where broken and boobie pinned to stay together,huge stains on carpet and dead bugs in corners stove was greasy,no lights outside and controls for tub where broken so was fireplace.The windows where so filthy you could barely see outside.Siding was covered with moss and sand ,broken beer bottles under the lattice.We have stayed there since it was built it has gotten so run down would never go back.Beware don't stay there.

The view was great and the easy access to the remote beach was a plus. The condo was very clean, especially the bathrooms. However, the couch/bed was very uncomfortable, springs poking and the matress had a bad odor and the sheets were musty smelling and had a strong odor. The master bed was uncomfortable with a sagging mattress.

Great location, quiet, perfect place to relax. My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights in the Scarlet room midweek this March 2007. I was told this suite is their most popular and for the most part we were not disapointed. Our first trip was to the grocery store to buy a gallon of bleach to put in the Jaccuzi which is very obviously in need of some upkeep. There was stains around the intake, jets and drain plug, the bleach took care of that. Water damage and peeling paint on the outside and the calking was cracked and in need of replacing. The fireplace is gas, on a timer and did not work. Other issues were loose door handels and outside lights not working. I reported the issues when we left and expect that they will be taken care off. None of these issues stopped us from having a wonderfull time and would go again.

For the price we paid, I expected to to see a bit of color in the garden areas and maybe a fresh coat of paint. I would suggest housekeeping be more diligent. We were met with dirty dishes in the dishwasher and it didn't appear that the vacuumming had happened. It is a beautiful location. The ocean view is terrific. It was comforable. It must have been beautiful when new. I would book again with a bit more questioning up front.

We were married at the Caroline Inn in 1997. The room was beautiful, the wedding perfect. We stayed there the next 2 years on our anniversary - again - beautiful. Last year we were in Ocean Shores - we stayed next door to the Caroline Inn and could not believe how it has been allowed to be so run down. The outside was green, the vegetation around the building totally out of control. I was embarrased to say we had been married there. If the prices have gone up (due to new owners), I would advise looking elsewhere. It's sad to see a wonderful place go downhill so fast.

We have stayed at the Caroline many times over the past 3 years. It is exactly as pictured on the website. The view is priceless! It sits on the beautiful ocean front with views from either level. The upstairs bedroom has a spectacular view of the ocean from the bed or the hot tub. It is quiet & secluded. Construction next door is not the Caroline's fault. We married on that very beach and have beautiful liflong memories thanks to the Caroline. It could use some basic updating and upkeep for a fresh appearance. The price has increased alot since having new owners and we are unable to stay there anymore because of the hike. If you can afford it, it is a must if your looking for some quality time with someone special.
