Carlin Lake Lodge, Presque Isle

While the charm of the drive into the Lodge draws you in, the rooms left something to be desired! Great bone structure but the sleeping rooms have been left as an afterthought - with the restaurant below having all the promise and attention. Sad...it could be a cute place with an effort at updating. Clean, No Air Conditioning for those HOT summer nights, no cable TV to veg out to after a long 6 hour drive. Nice porch and sitting area on the Lake side. Little scary being the only guests - that should tell you a lot. Come for the food - great service.
