Horrible
When I called for reservations, the owner would not email or fax a confirmation. He would only give me a confirmation number.
I insisted as I wanted some proof of my room type, price, and date upon arrival. After 2 phone calls, he finally emailed me... but only with the price, no room description, and no date. When I asked him if the room was nonsmoking, he said first 'I don't know', and then when pushed said, well... we don't rent this particular room so often so I'm sure it will be fine. Well...I got there and the room smelled terrible of smoke and a cheap perfume-like cover up smell.
The dust on the TV was so thick I could write my name in it. There was coffee on the coffee machine (not cleaned). There was a hair on the bathroom sink. Bathroom was very dated (gray tub and toilet, black wall tile, pink shower curtain). Mini refrigerator froze everything I put in there. Window was broken (would not close/open). On the wall and ceiling were patches of plaster where they were repairing, not painted. When I turned on the air conditioner, a huge amount of dust and debris came flying out. I left and drove all over town trying to find another room, but everything was full up (August weekend). So... I just accepted it and stayed 3 days. I should have complained to the owner, but he was so obnoxious on the phone when I asked for a confirmation (He screamed... 'why don't you believe me, I am the owner!!) that I didn't even want to speak to him. Beware of this place, it's awful. Try the Comfort Suites (newer) or the Hayward Inn.
