Black Bears Lodge, St Germain

We really enjoyed our stay at Black Bear Lodge in St Germain. We stayed in a lodge home which was comfy and very enjoyable. It was a busy weekend with OktoBEARfest. You must go if you have not been to their OktoBEARfest yet. It's a GREAT time. Even with people next to us and above us the unit was really quiet. The beds were soft, great accomodations (including microwave, stove, fridge,2 full baths, etc). The staff was very accomodating and really welcoming. We WILL be back again and again. Best place we have found in town for a resort.

If you are looking for a great deal, go no further than the Black Bear Lodge. Not only do they have the best maintained cabins and property in the area, they have plenty to do for FREE right at the resort. The beach area is prestine & safe enough for even the youngest swimmers. They have water toys, a play area, groomed walk ways that are great for spying on the abundent wildlife. The Bear Den ( lounge area) is a family friendly hang out that offers games, internet, TV, pool table, a DJ night with trivia activities. They provide a camp fire on certain evenings, kids activities, a fishing guide. There really is something for everyone here. I have been on vacations to WI Northwoods all my life & have stayed at many different resorts. We were lucky enough to find this place three years ago. We have come here twice a year every year & would not think about going anywhere else. There is just so much more that this resort offers compared to the other places in the area. The people at this resort really care for their guests & go out of their way to make you feel like you are family.

Black Bear Lodge 7/4 – 7/11/2009 We arrived about 10:00 pm and were greeted by a very helpful reception. I felt at ease and relieved to be treated as a welcome guest. The grounds were very quit and peaceful. We were given resort information about kids activities, the facilities, even the local fishing guide came by and gave a presentation about the history, kinds of fish, where to catch them & many tips and pointers. The Lodge had a very nice bar and restaurant, with a very tasteful décor - the food was Excellent and very cheap. The beer when down smooth and the camaraderie was very pleasant, my whole family felt special. Even though we arrived after the restaurant had closed the owner opened it back up and made the food himself ! We stayed in the “Mallard” lodge, within 10 feet of the beach, it has a huge deck overlooking the peaceful bay. It had 3 bedrooms and all the kitchen items needed, even some complementary coffee. We could sit and watch the kids play and walk 30 feet to the boat pier, where we even caught enough fish for a great fish fry. We rented one of their pontoon boats, that was a very fun day. The whole family had plenty of room to roam around and cruise the lake. We met a lot of other guests that were all very friendly and we would not hesitate to come back in the future. Mike
