BUYER BEWARE
By T, 5/20/12
Booked this quaint little Inn for UVM graduation - my partner's daughter was graduating. Drove 4 hours to VT only to discover that we were not staying in a quaint little Inn but in the parking lot in back of the Inn in what they refer to as the "Country Lodge", which is really a run down motor lodge. This "Country Lodge" was only missing two things - the hookers and complimentary crack pipes. I have never seen anything so horrific! First - the room was in the back of the "Lodge" up an ungraded dirt path. The room was filthy, had not been updated in what appeared to be....ever. Bed linens disgusting, dust everywhere, no air conditioner, no screens on windows, wall art had been ripped off which left the wall with holes and screws sticking out, and the door only had a shaky handle lock . When we went to the office to complain - we were treated in a very condescending manner , it was infuriating. The first thing the owner told us was that she was not refunding our money. This was the only thing she seemed to be concerned with - when I told her her website was misleading she argued with me. Eventually she offered us another room - also in the "Lodge" but in the front of the building. We initially decided to take it because it was graduation weekend and everything was booked. After much drama she also offered us a second night in the Main Inn - which was what we thought we were getting in the first place. We went to our new room and found it also disgusting - sink outside the bathroom was rusted and filthy, the room had not been cleaned - bed linens had hair on them, shower also had hair stuck to it, room smelled musty and awful. We were so upset that we left. We called the hotel told the owner that we would not be staying and again said that we would not get any money back. Not only did we loose money on the room for two nights, we had to drive home that night because we couldn't find any other place to stay so we did not get to see my partner's daughter graduate, we lost the money we paid to have our dogs kenneled - which, by the way, would have been a more preferable accommodation than this Inn. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, THIRD WORLD ACCOMMODATIONS. DO NOT STAY HERE

Good value and most of all no bedbugs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/16/11
We stayed in the Carriage House section of the inn and I will be honest, it is not the most modern and upkept place I have stayed in. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I did not go here for an all out luxury family vacation. This was a weekend ski getaway and year after year this Inn has had the best value. The staff was always very helpful, roms were clean, and best of all you walk out front and a shuttle service takes you to the mountain. The free breakfast is a bonus as well, you just cant beat Vermonts maple syrup
