Lusky's Lakefront Cottages, Lexington

What we liked most was the lake Huron lakefront and beach. It was a supper week, weather was great, the other guest were fun to be around., the kids made new friends. we had a great time. we use to go 5hrs north, this is only about a 1hr drive. (increased vacation time). great, great time. I'm gonna try to rent all 11 cottages for a family reunion.

For the money, I don't feel it's worth it. I kept thinking though that I'd come back again even though I kept smelling gas by the stove all week. On the last night one of my girls dropped a gumball on the floor so I bend down to pick it up. The ball stopped. Upon reaching for it I was shocked to find the rotting corpse of a tiny mouse, not gas leaking from the reject 1940's stove. Other than that the non-friendly dogs, the owner spraying insecticides 5 feet from where you're eating lunch, the lack of blinds on the windows & available wi-fi that was non-existant it was tolerable. When I was checking out I notified the owner of the dead mouse and all I got was an "I guess I'll get that cleaned up before the next check in".

This was our 3rd time. We love it! The cabins are small, rustic and eclectic. But with running water and electric, frig, micro, oven, ceiling fans and other fans. Also a heater for cold nights. They are WAY better than tent camping as another reviewer posted. We had our own grill and picnic table. Brought our own tubes and floats and floated around a astoundingly clean and blue lake Huron. Bring water shoes!!! You will be sorry if you don't have them! In the game room they do have a few you could borrow but they are sized for smaller kids. No more paddle boat, that was a bummer this year. But since we rented an additional cabin this year so our kids could invite a friend each, the volleyball, shuffleboard, ping pong, playground, game room, and basketball had more than enough to keep them happy. We enjoyed nightly campfires, and brought play station for late night movies and video game fun inside. Felt so safe and loved that the kids can just go back and forth as they please giving me and my husband a chance to unwind and relax. We kept our dog with us and had him use the same area for the bathroom breaks for easy clean up. Or golden retriever loved swimming with us!!! So glad they let you bring your dog!!!! If you are looking for a romantic getaway this place would be better off season, when not so many others with kids and dogs are there. But for families, or a quick get away, retreats this place is an hour from our house and we want to try to get all of our friends to rent them all next year at the same time so we can have a big vacation with everyone!!! P.S. for the reviewer that posted about everything inside the cottages that they did not like. It is to bad that you felt the cottages were so much beneath you and you didn't open up and meet new people and enjoy the water,view and all the other fun things this place has to offer.

another great time! Lakefront, Beach, things for the kids to do, other families to meet and kids to play with, Game-room, relaxing, close by, less than an hour drive from macomb county.

With camping, you know what you are getting yourself into. This place was awful, not worth the price you pay. The beach is very tiny and with dogs running around all over the place you have to watch where you step.

Do you like watching unleashed dogs fight? Do you like looking up at your ceiling and wondering if it might fall down on you? Do you like fireworks well after quiet hours? Do you like going to the bathroom while looking at the back of a live outlet from the kitchen? Are windows without screens your idea of big fun? Did you wake up one day and say "I wish my vacation cottage had peeling wallpaper." Do you wonder if you can spend 3 days in less than 700 square feet of space that is listed as a capable of sleeping four? Do you like having children watch you undress because your windows lack blinds? Do you like to pay in advance for something that is totally misleading on the website and brochure? If you answered yes to any of these questions then Lusky's Lakefront Cottages is the place for you. Remember, at Lusky's they will tell you to your face "You do not get to relax here on Labor Day."

We looked around the area for a spot for a family reunion. We chose Lusky's Lakefront Cottages. They could fulfill our needs. It was the best time ever. Our family had the whole place. A lot to do. All the cousins together. We do it every other year. Looking forward to our next get together at Luskys.

Stay Away!! Unless you're looking for a hunt shack at the price of a 4-star hotel. I don't think the owners of this place have done anything but vacuum these cottages in the last 35 years. Totally not worth the weekend rate of $110. I'd rather sleep in a tent - at least then I'd be less worried about flies and mice.
