Blackthorn Guest Ranch, Durham

9 of us arrived a little late on our motorcycles, Patti and Jen met us and the first words out of their mouths were "We tried calling you because we were worried" They made sure that we all got our dinner even though it was a little past time, food was good, dessert was excellent, service was wounderful (thanks Christine). Our room was nice (the heater was a little slow) jacuzzi tub was cool. Breakfast on Mothers day was outstanding - Waffles, eggs, sausage, etc. and of course Amanda with the homemade chocalate peanutbutter treats and chocolate covered Strawberries - Beautifully nestled in the woods, but be carefull of the man eating bunnies running wild near the Peacock cage. Thanks again for a nice weekend

My family and I spent the night at Blackthorn. It had alot of activities, cages of exotic farm animals, an average pool, and fireworks. But the rooms were terrible. They were old, dark and dank. The walls were made of the darkest paneling, with a single sink from the 1970's. Everything needed a major overhaul. The entry doors were bedroom-strength luan doors. The lighting was dim and some of the lamps didn't even work. Our accompanying room had "water" dripping from the bathroom ceiling, and there was urine on the back of the toilet seat. The shower curtain was moldy. All of this "luxury" for $600 overnight! The Blackthorn charges per person, not per room. I would much rather have a clean, comfortable room than a nightly fireworks display and a full bar!

most fun i ever had, the bikes were great. food was de liss. i can not wait to come back to black torn resort again
