10 reviews for Riedlbauer's Resort, Round Top
Had a good time and may return
By Yoo, 09/30/09
I went for the first time and met my parents there. I'm 34. We had a good time. There were a bunch of times my German father said a certain food was just like his mother used to make. I can see where this kind of place would turn-off a typical rebellious teenager, though they can find things to do if they look around. To previous reviewers: The indoor pool is there - with a spa/jacuzzi and sauna too. The pillows and beds were not like rocks, they were fine. More comfortable then most hotels I've been at. They had washcloths too. Some of the lodges might be louder than others - ask for the quiet ones when you book. There are no TV's in the room to encourage people to attend the nightly entertainment I imagine. You can watch TV at home.

The worst
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/08
Will never go back. First try and it was totally inappropriate for young children. Ruined my extended families vacation because I could not allow these people around my 5 yr old daughter. Stay away. Any questions, contact me Jim Too685@aol.com

Baverian charm
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/08
I have been going to Riedlbauer's for the last 30+ years and my wife has been going even longer. It is a family oriented resort with home style meals, jovial people and and wonderful accomadations. Henry, Ursula, Peter Nussbaumer , Anita and Janet their families and ataff make your stay a pleasure. Its your home away from home.

Look forward to going every year
By Jaime, 07/25/07
My family has been going to Riedlbauer's for years, ever since I was a little kid (and I'm in my 20s now). I grew up going to the place, so perhaps I'm a bit biased. I know it's not some fancy resort, there's no tvs in the rooms and sometimes the rooms are a bit musty, but the food is great and the owners (a very nice family) are always trying to make improvements. Scheduled to be built before next season is an indoor pool and fitness room. There's always things for the kids to do, with a game night and play areas, although the Catskills aren't as popular as they used to be and places like the Catskill Game Farm and the go-kart place we used to go to have closed. The highlights every year for me are hitting a bucket of golf balls at the driving range (which has improved with the addition of a bar), playing the ring game (so simple, yet so addictive), hiking to the waterfall, seeing the same friendly faces every year, and listening to the German music that, even though I only hear it once a year, randomly pops into my head months later.

so uncomfortable!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/06
Beds like rocks. Pillows like rocks also. No washcloths provided. No TVs in rooms. VERY, VERY smelly sulphur-y water, can't even brush your teeth with it, let alone shower, unless you want to smell like a rotten egg. (Why no water-softening system???) Noise level everywhere is intolerable, especially inside, and late into the night. Never again. On the bright side, good food, but table service could be better. Skip it.

Making plans to go back
By Peter, 08/28/06
We just got back from Riedlbauer's for a family reunion. Our family has been going to Riedlbauer's on and off for about 30 years. The resort is all inclusive (except the bar) and is compact enough to keep track of the children, yet large enough to have you own space. There is no need to leave the resort - swimming, tennis & walking trails are right there. A driving range and playgrounds for children are right there. Service at the three meals a day is prompt and courteous. The bar is open whenever needed. Entertainment (dancing, bingo, etc) are there. My family will be making plans to go back in two years for another reunion at Riedlbauer's.
