Hyatt-Lake Resort, Ashland

We loved it, and think it would be a great place for a family reunion. We oldsters could rent cabins and the younger generations would love the camping facilities around the lake. We usually try to have these reunions every two years, but due to the economy it has been very hard financially for some of the family to be able to attend. Maybe next year or 2014 we can make it and would love to have it at this resort and lake. I can't say I really disliked anything

I like nothing about this resort. I never made it there. My husband and I followed the directions on the website. This was my birthday present. When we got to the turnoff off HWY 66 we met snow. The snow was so deep and slushy that my toyota corolla was spinning the first mile. After trying our best to get there we finally had to turn around before we were stuff on the road. We tried to cancel and the manager was rude and said he would charge us anyway. He basically told us it was our fault for not knowing that road would be too snowy and its not his job to tell us when we made the reservations. I hope no one ever stays at that resort. It is obviously named wrong and shoudl be called The Hyatt Lake enter at your own risk. Not a resort!!!!

The owner of this resort was screaming and yelling in front of patrons. He was on a rant at one of the staff. He dropped the f-bomb word constantly. We were told and it is confirmed that he was interrogated for the murder of one of his former employees. We will NEVER go there again ! Good riddence !

We stayed here once in the summer and once this winter and it was so beautiful, cozy and fun. As runner/hiker/x-country skiers, it was a treat to have the Pacific Crest Trail practically right out the door. We had our canoe with us in August and paddled over to the BLM campground/beach for an afternoon and enjoyed the pizza and music in the evening. Last month was quieter and the snow was magical. It is such a short drive from town, but felt like we really got away. When I first booked, I didn't know that the cabins have complete kitchens, or I would have brought more food, there is no store or market to buy basics like eggs or half and half. (that's why we knocked off a star for service) We would absolutely go back with half and half :)

The cabins are NOT trailer like ... they are called park models and are quite roomy and homey. They have a great restaurant if you do not like to cook ... and most of them have a great view of the lake. It's a great family place.
