Stayed there because they were less than a mile away from the Red Bud motocross track. Given that this big professional circuit race is an annual event that brings in over 30,000 people to this small community, I was a bit skeptical when I arrived because there were several open sites, but I knew that several campgrounds that were further away were and had been booked for months, now I understand why. The so called management did little except harass several respectful paid in full guests. Their lack of professionalism and manners made staying there a horrible experience for me and my family. We were harrassed non-stop, pictures were taken of our site as they thought it was messy (trust me it was not). We were also harrassed, as were several others about car parking, a rule that everyone seemed to respect but was taken to an extreme by the unreasonable evening shift management team led by an extremely disgruntled dark haired female employee who would not provide a name nor had a name tag. We witnessed one camper, who was having dinner at the time, get verbally assaulted by the male bearded employee because, when asked to move his car to his site (10 ft away), told them that he would gladly do so in a minute when he had finished his meal. This was apparently not a satifactory response to the extrememly unreasonable management team, hence the threat of violence. Due to this we promptly decided it was time to leave their facility and seek better accommodations. I do not recommend this campgound to anyone looking for a pleasant camping experience. It's too bad that this small community needs to suffer from such a inhospitable establishment, but it is good for the other the more professional locations nearby. Fullers campground is very nice, by what I've heard, wasn't able to stay there, they were booked.
Wasn't staying, just doing family recon for next years vacation. Read the ridiculously unintelligent reviews. The poor grammar and misspellings scream disgruntled, X employee. It is obvious to me why they are x. With that said, did my own investigations of the property and management. Will say it is a cool place if you don't need someone planning every step of your vacation and holding your hand. It's camping and if your want room service, stay at a hotel. I am a property manager and well understand the business. This place, as one other of Encore's nearby properties; New Carlisle, IN, lack good management. (Couldn't even get a local caterer to walk in there. Hillbilly, evil manager!). Whether you manage a 5 star, healthily funded property or distressed, there is no reason for disrepair because of laziness and absolutely no reason for poor and blatently rude customer service . This is the SERVICE industry.... be courteous, be prompt and please follow through. Those qualities cost NOTHING! Due to a lack there of, I will not be staying at either of their properties. Should have called me back and not made me feel like I put you out. Missed out on a respectful, family group that doesn't want/need their hands held and just want to be together once a year.
Stopped in to Bear Cave for two nights on my way home from MS to Traverse City MI. Hadn't been back in 5 years but wow, well groomed, very clean bathrooms and the staff checking me in was was like a tour guide! Planned on only one night but Vicky coaxed me into another to really enjoy the wine trails. Coming back this summer and bringing the wife! ### hint......make time for the nature trails and waterfalls, great photo op,,,,,,,

The last two times I went to Bear Cave have been a nightmare. First I went on Memorial Day weekend. Called to reserve early and asked if the pool and Hot Tub would be accessable as I was bringing small children. I was told that they would be ready that Friday. When I arrived I found neither the pool nor HotTub would not be ready for the weekend. I was told by people that are seasonal that the Hot Tub was broke over the winter and they had no plans on fixing.Since I had four young children with me and nothing for them to do, imagine my dismay. I asked the manager for the corprate phone number and they refused. Why I came back I don't know, but my sister-in-law made reservations under her name and she arrived and piad for her. I came later told the attendant that I was there under my sister-in-laws name, they filled out the paperwork with her reservation I paid and signed. I find out three days later they charged her card for my sight. She called and explained but they refused to listen. Please heed this warning. This is a nice resort with horrible management pratices..
