Malibu Dude Ranch, Milford

This place is so great. If you are looking for the Ritz, don't bother. This is a true working ranch. We had so much fun! The staff is awesome. It is one of the few places left that you can let your kid run free and be a kid. Our 11 year old daughter rode each morning and then rowboated and caught frogs with the other kids. We spent the afternoon riding and having fun. There is so much to do and it was so safe. All the kids went on a kid trail ride while the adults went on their own. ( SO sorry for Heather who got stuck with the kids) but it was so great! we will go back again and again!

About a year ago we went to malibu ranch and left it was disgusting.......we were told new owners bought the ranch and fixed it up...we went in april and had a great time the food was good ...clean......riding was great.......new owners and staff fantastic... if you feel like relaxing and riding ...try it.....

My husband and I have been coming to Malibu for over 20 years. We love it there. The staff is so nice and we keep in touch with them. We come at least 3 or 4 times a year . We love the area. The land is beautiful. We always have a great time. We have met so many nice people. I love the fact that Tom and Rob take such good care of the horses and all the animals. I'm looking forward to my next stay in May. Keep up the good work.

I love the hospitality, the kindness, the benefits of the different types of horses there are to ride, etc. They've always treated us with respect and treat my aunt, who's boarderline retarded with complete respect. They have large horses for large people to ride, such as Smokey, Zena and Maggie. They have ponies such as Little Bear and Jupiter for the little ones to ride too. Food is delicious, plenty of it and if you're still hungry at the end of the night its your own fault. The game room is open 24/7 for anyone who cares to use it. The owners have recently installed internet access for those who desire it. The lobby has cable television for those few that choose to be bored to watch. The lake is available for swimming, boating, and fishing. Tennis, archery, rifle ranges, are available for the sportsman type. No air conditioning but seriously folks, we're in a 1940's ranch which is rustic but comfortable. Pool isn't heated but in the dead of winter, we could used to be cooled off. Your kids are safe because everyone watches everyone's kids whether they are yours or not. If you have used and abused all that Malibu has to offer there are are several local attractions that I recommend, such as Claws And Paws Wild Animal Park in Lake Ariel, about a half hours ride away, Milford Beach for swimming, boating, etc, whitewater rafting locally, lots of downtown flavor with shopping galore, etc. Don't pass it up, well worth it

MBD is very worn out and in need of repair and maintenance in several places; the pool was a murky green so we didn't use it. Cabins were, well, still standing. Linens clean but thin and needing replacment. Cowboys, horses, food, mess hall, wait staff all very good. The trails are through muddy rocky forest. Again, wait staff & cowboys very good & helpful.

We just came for the day, and WOW! What a great deal! $50 per person for all day of guided horseback riding AND lunch! That's a deal that can't be beat. We'll definitely be back!

This place is in need of repair. No air conditioning, no radio, not even a box of tissues in the place. Came home with bug bites all over my body. Rustic, old and dilapitated. I couldn't wait to get out of the place and come home. Would never go back again.

I have been going to this ranch for a very long time. I started going when i was 2years old no lie. And now i work there.If you are looking for something cheap you have come to the right place.We are not no 5 star place.We are very nice homie people.If i had a choose the Florida or Malibu Dude Ranch i would so pick Malibu.You will have a blast just by your self or with the whole family.So come on down to Malibu Dude Ranch!!!!!=)

This place is for the camper who likes to ride horses. Very old, rustic, and campy! Bring your own bedlinen, and plastic mattress pad. It makes it easier.........flipflops for feet, no bare feet on the carpets.. Boots and old clothing.. rustic, rustic, old cabins and lodging...... Food good, home cooking, simple menu, poor dessert selection ;(, bar open at night, staff friendly, and love kids and teaching how to ride. Very patient with guest. even got a tour of all sleeping quarters! Rustic, Camping environment. Children love it... we didn't sit on the floor in the rooms, but then we never sit on the floors at any hotels.... I guess bug spray in the warmer weather, its the outdoors, in the mountains.....Wish we had time to go into town, very charming, cute shops, and such..
