Inspect Room First

When we first arrived to check in, the less than clean condition of the lobby area caused us to check other area hotels but finding no other rooms available (7/18/09) we returned and against our better judgment we took the room, without inspecting it first, half hour later after carrying our bags into the room and somewhat settling in, and locating the laundry room for towels, we wanted to open the curtains for some light, only to discover dog sh*t on the floor!! That was the final straw. We then called the front desk and they told us" call back in 15 mins" We then just gathered our belongs and went back to the front desk to get a refund and were flat out told b/c we did not inspect the room first and b/c we entered the room we could not get a refund. We were offered another room that did not have dog sh*t but was in deplorable condition, we then again returned to the front desk and asked for a refund and was told that is was not possible. The manager then informed us that the housekeeper said the room was clean when she left, the manager then said maybe we had a dog, which we clearly did not, that left the mess. after being called a liar by the manager, we departed without a refund and considered it better to give up the money than sleep in a room filled with dog do.
