Rainbow Mountain Resort, Smithfield twp

I have been going to Rainbow Mountain for 30 years. It is a great relaxing country getaway in the Poconos. If you are looking for an up to date modern resort this is not your place. It needs some updating and i would recommend you stay in the deluxe rooms which are more like a motel room they are large and clean with updated bathroom.. The food is excellent and breakfast and a 4 course dinner is included in the package which I think makes this a great value. The staff and guests are very friendly.

the place could be a real gem.. unfortunately, it looks like the place is very dated. they need a landscape and lighting designer to kick it up to the next level. Drinks are generally cheap.. compared to NY prices.. but i noticed the drinks were different prices depending on who was waiting on you,, not sure what thats about ???.. overall, not a bad getaway for a gay resort.. i guess they're the only game in town ...

Friendly mixed crowd. (Gay/Straight) Dance club upstairs. Kareoke in downstairs lounge. Did not stay or see the lodging. Bartenders and staff were attentive. We had fun here on New Years Eve.

If you are a female, you will have to wait a long time for a drink in the nightclub! GEARED toward men. It reminded me of more of a SWINGERS club than I tasteful dance club! The bathrooms are the worst!! Filthy & extremely small. NO security! The very gay men who own it are their 'security'? In this day, you need security and people need to be checked for weapons, etc. ESPECIALLY in the Poconos!! NO cameras - NOTHING! I have heard of people being sexually assaulted in the parking lot and assaulted on the dancefloor! This is an extremely dangerous place! The rooms are also crusty and dirty and the food is gross! KEEP OUT OF THIS DUMP!

I didn't like it at all. No parking. Crusty pool and spa. Very unclean. Should be torn down and made into a Walmart, lol
