Nice place, but Adult only
By Chris, 7/18/11
My boyfriend and I are members, and used to visit quite often, last year and even more-so this year, it wasn't worth the money we spent. I like the facilities, nice pool, conversation pool, outdoor bar. Some of the people and management are very friendly, but many of the regulars don't seem to be of the naturist culture, but more the swinger culture, which we have no desire for. This would most definitely not be a place to visit as a family. Lately because of work we have not been able to visit except on weekends and there is no point because people rudely leave towels and clothing on the lounges for hours on end and we are unable to lay out in the sun as we would like.

Very nice resort.
By Joe, 3/10/11
Sunny Rest is a nice more upscale clothing optional resort. It has a nice pool, hot tub, volleyball and tennis courts, hiking trails, an outside bar, and soon to be completed converstation pool. Message therapy is also provided on the weekends. This is a more active and somewhat younger crowd than most clothing optional resorts. Tennis, water volleyball, sand volleyball, karokee along with night time adult only dances are among the regular weekend activities. Most of the people and staff are very friendly. There is more young adults here than at most clothing optional resorts, especially on volleyball weekends. On weekends this place is crowded. Auto parking and space by the pool is a premium. It's best to get there earlier. There is a restaurant on the grounds too. I found the prices was a little high and service was slow. Fortunately there are options outdide of the resort within 2 miles. There is also lodging not far from the resort, a good thing as the motel rooms are usually sold out on weekends. There was a previous review that said this was not a resort for families with kids under 18. There are quite a few kids at the resort. Whether they should be there is a regular debate at Sunny Rest. That means there are expectations of behavior being in standard with a family resort. Any misbehavior will get you asked to leave. Any adult fun is done in private. There is not a Hedonism or Playboy Mansion type of atmososhpere here.

It's is a great place for couples or swingers but not young male nudists like my self, especially when I go alone or with a male friend. The only reason I stil go is because it's the closest place to where I live.

Waiting for 2010!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/16/10
I spent some time last summer at Sunny Rest. As this was my first expereince in a nudist environment-I was a bit hesitant. The people are warm and welcoming, the ammenities comfortable, the yummy food well prepared, and the pool and other activites a blast. Fourth of July celebration was the best! We were able to spend lots of quiet time just enjoying the resort-and while there is a party crowd-were never made to feel uncomfortable by others. The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs-and quickly responded to any violation of resort policy. We cannot wait to return again this year!

a great palce
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/09
My wife and I have been to sunnyrest several times. It's clean, safe and a load of fun. People are friendly, its quiet on weekdays, a party on weekends. You can be involved in activites or stay to yourself if you want. Yes some people are flirty, but no one has ever step beyond that to commenting anything inappropriate. the pool is clean, tennis courts are very nice, showers are clean, restaurant it priced fair and the food is consistently good.

I'll pass this year
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/28/08
I have been to clothing optional beaches and resorts up and down the east coast.I have been going to Sunny Rest since 2005 and have seen some negative noticiable changes in the past 2 years. When I first went to Sunny Rest I was given a list of rules that must be adhered too or you would be removed from the premises some of the rules were no camera's no extreme staring or illicit behavior or comments pro & con about another person's body or any abnormal piercing's were not to be displayed.I have always told my friends at a nude beach or resort the behavior there is far much more better than a public beach. When I go to a nude beach or resort everybody just enjoys being free of clothes and just enjoy's and relaxes being nude, people of all ages and families enjoy this expierence. This was the case at Sunny Rest the first couple of years I went but it seems it is heading more to a swinger atmosphere I have been stared at and given hoots and whistles both men & women are wearing jewelry and other odd pieces to highlight their genital area, there is much more flirting and drunken behavior with little or no action to stop. Now this year their is a womens bicep and a mens bun contest this to me destroys the whole nude expirence to enjoy nature clothes free and not exploit bodies. Also the price is a little to high for what you receive the hot tub is 1st class but the pool is very standard and it is quite a hike to the tennis courts parking is very limited so you better arrive before 10am to get a parking spot.THIS IS NOT A RESORT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 18!!! anymore or family oriented. The prices climb too much for the weekend. If your over 18 and have no children and like the risque part of nudity this resort might be for you.If you have a family and children or just like being clothes free and enjoy good friends and conversation I do not recommend this resort. Also beware at the volleyball pit if you do not play up to their standards you will be told and not asked to play with but wait until the beginners have their turn in the pit.Even the home page exploits a curvaciuos woman if your a true naturalist you will understand...
