Indiana Beach Campground, Monticello

Avid camper as is my whole family. We are new to Indiana and wanted to check out the local resorts in or close to the state. We camp all over the US and have never heard of a policy that does not refund your money on reservations if they are canceled more than 24 hours in advance. Made reservations for this place 8 days prior to Memorial Day weekend. I was told the Sunday before Memoriual day that I was put On-Call for the holiday weekend. I had to call and cancel my reservation and was told I could not get my money back. I was told it was a Policy stated on their website but I found out about this place through word of mouth. I was never on their website. The woman that took my reservation should have stated to me then that I would not get my money refunded to me if I had to cancel in which case I NEVER WOULD HAVE MADE THE RESERVATION that far in advance and would have waited and taken the chance there was still room at the place 2 days before. What about people that don't have or use internet??? This place is THAT HARD UP that they will keep my money. I guess if they took better care of their park then they would get more visitors and they wouldn't have to keep a working mans money. No worries though...the park lost out on a lot more than just my money because the families that told me about the place are no longer going to visit the park anymore. I'm sure they will spread it to their family and friends just as I'm going to. Just goes to show that when you are GREEDY like this Resort is...in the long run you lose so much more!!!
