Beware!! Although the price of your property and yearly dues are reasonable, the board of trustees that are now in office (most of them) feel it is okay to assess extra monies with a 31 day notice if they feel they need them. A $90,000 assessment (600 campers X $150.00) to hold them until dues time was called an emergency assessment. No budget just assessments when they need/want to do something and spend money. this happened August, 2009, and the assessment was due before Labor day weekend or you were no allowed into campground. And yes, you own the lot and pay property taxes to the county, but you still could not come in without paying assessment.
It used to be the campers voted on assessments, but not anymore. If this board was voted off, and went back to the ways of the campground since its inception, (people voted for things and volunteered to help out),it would be a great place.
We just bought 2 lots and we love it! There is so much to do swimming,4 wheeling, game room and weekend events for the kids.We are so glad its private and the secerity there is great.Looking forward to spending alot of time at Harrison Hills!
I like the kids being able to ride around the camp and see how much fun they are having. The only problem is the older grumpy people complaining about kids having fun. It is private and the showers are clean. The trails in the park are really for everyone. It is always nice to ride around in a golf cart looking at the nice property which people own.
This campground is the cheapest place around if you can find something cheaper with all the activities then iI would like to visit the place. Yes we have assesmnets but when you cosider that we don't even pay half of what other camps pay then that $150. don't bother me. We have pool movie nights breakfast dances kids nights and activities and it is a great place.
i absolutly love this place. ive been camping here every since i was little and i love it. theres so much to do such as: swim, play basketball, playgrounds, fourwheeling trails everywhere, nice nature features, game room, and nice weekend parties for everyone. i go there every summer and i look forward to it in the winter. i wish some of the trutees and such would be less strict and let kids be kids and have fun. its a campground it's made to be fun!!
Its a great place to go, it takes our family a while to get there but we go back every year, all the neighbors are friendly and so are the kids that run around.Weve watched children grow up and then bring their families around, it is truley a site to see.
We just wish that the pool would be open a later...Since it is summer, and some adults don tlike to go swimming with all the kids, we would prefer to have an adult swim after say 10 pm at your own risk, and at least a life gaurd over the age of 18 duringthe day for our grandchildren. Thank you and god bless
