The undiscovered treasure....

Whenever our family goes to Estes Park, this is where we stay. It is the only commercial lodging left within the RMNP borders, which is another reason we love it. They don't advertise because families come back again & again. Because you are in RMNP, you can literally walk to "The Meadow" and watch elk, big horn sheep, and even a coyote or 2. Chipmunks run the grounds and you can even get Stellar Jays to swoop down and eat from your hand. Now, our family describes the cabins as 'comfortably roughing it', so don't expect luxury here, but the beds are comfortable and the cabins each have their own unique charm. The Davis family has been running Cascade Cottages for over 50 years and have worked on updating the property over the last decade. We have been staying here since the late 1970's. There is the Fall river that runs through the property, so don't forget to stop in the office and look at the photo albums from the Lawn Lake flood of 1982. Their prices have steadily gone up, some may think it is a bit pricey for what you get, even we cringe a little at the price (which is still low to moderate for Estes Park), but the location and atmosphere is what we pay 'extra' for. My parents brought me, & now I am taking my children (they LOVE it). We are going back July 06, so I'll post an update.
