First impressions not so good, but......
When I first walked in I thought it looked pretty dirty but I gave it some time and it kind of grew on me. Yeah it's not the Taj Mahal but I was looking for a place not so big and flashy, less populated, easy in and out, and quiet as compared to the big Casinos. Negatives are that it is a little run down, the elevator is slow, continental breakfast is gone before you get a chance to get some, the alley leading to the boardwalk beside the hotel (kentucky Ave) is a bit noisy due to delivery trucks delivering early in the morning to vendors on the boardwalk along with the trash trucks, and the lack of toiletries (which you can bring your own body wash and shampoo, and you can ask for extra towels). Positives are that for the most part the hotel is quiet at night (hotel management does not allow guests friends loiter the hotel premises and party), Coffee in the lobby 24/7, beds are relatively comfortable and changed daily, from the front door you are a left turn and 50 yards from the boardwalk ( I felt comfortable with my 10 year old son walking back to the hotel to get something without having to cross busy roads, etc), you are centrally located in the middle of the boardwalk with equal distances left and right to the ends of the boardwalk, the best breakfast shops are right by the hotel, Bill's and the Itialian Bistro, beach rentals (chairs, umbrellas, etc) are right there along with a Newstand which sells anything from tobacco to q-tips, and finally hotel personnel were very accomodating and the price to stay, as opposed to the big casinos, was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this hotel if you can deal with a hotel that is alittle run down but offers so many more positives as mentioned above. Hope this helps.
