Tips from a Native

I have lived in Mendocino and know the town well, and go back to visit friends. We usually stay at Sweetwater with the kids, because the location is good and I like the cottages and feel we aren't bothering other guests as you do in hotels with walls meeting other rooms. The cottages are nice and clean, showers have kind of crappy pressure but there is a water shortage in Mendocino and this can be common. It's not super fancy, but kind of nice in a country sort of way. They offer free hot tubs which are communal clothing optional, which means there are alot of naked people if that makes you uncomfortable you can pay for a private tub. No real frills but private and also nice little kitchens and cable which the kids like. No funny perfume smells. I would say this is a safe bet if you want a little getaway. There is also a pricey resteraunt next door, which has decent food, and Mendo is not known for it's food.
