2 reviews for Tahoe Sands Resort, Tahoe Vista
You'll be more comfortable sleeping in your car

What a dump!! They booked 4 of us into a one bedroom with kitchen. The dining table had 2 chairs. The place is very old and outdated. Nothing has been done to maintain it. Cabinets are old and falling apart. TV's are old and you don't get good channels. The bed is really bad. The curtians don't cover the window completely and the sun hits you in the eye every morning. We had the place for a week and left after 3 days. The only nice thing about this place is the location. It is located close to the lake, close to safeway, close to snowmobiles and close to skiing.

We won't go back.

While the location is nice, the resort is split into two sections by very busy Highway 29. If you are stuck with a cabin across the street, it is very difficult and dangerous to cross the street to the main property - especially for small children. The beach is nice, but small and rocky. Playground, grass, pool and spa need to be updated and improved. The room was functional, except for the kitchenette which was old and basically useless. The bathroom was very small, with only a cramped shower stall. There was an open container of rat poison in the bathroom cupboard. Parents with small kids should use caution. The price was good for mid-week, but I would rather pay more for a better location and updated room and resort amenities.
