Annabelle Inn, Aspen

Great service, Clean rooms that were nicely decorated. This lodge has a bed and breakfast feel. We went towards the end of September and the aspens were at their peak colors. My wife said this was the prettiest vacation we had been on.

Hello travelers, My name is Charley and I am the Innkeeper of the Annabelle Inn. I was reading our reviews and wanted to say thank you to those who have written us such nice reviews. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also I would like to take the opportunity to respond to the two negative reviews. First, I offer my apologies to the guest who found me to be condesending. In my 15+ years in the hotel industry, over nine here in Aspen, I have made it my goal to be welcoming and friendly with all my guests. If one checks this and other review sights, I think you will find that many others do not share that guests opinion. It appears that I missed the mark here, once again I offer my apologies. As to the location of our standard rooms, they are streetside and we make no bones about it. The entire staff here, including myself, will let any guest who books a standard room that there is street noise. Additionally, this is noted in our room descriptions given to wholesale representatives and web sites. These rooms are priced accordingly for this very reason. Sadly, our response for these two guests fell short. However, I stand behind our track record and look forward to many years of hosting vacations here in Aspen. we stayed there two nites in December...and the room we had was charming and romantic. The staff showed us several rooms and they are each different and charming...I would go back in a minute.. this is what a hotel should be!!! also clean and cozy !!!

I just recently stayed at the Annabelle Inn. I wish that the Inn Keeper would have told us upon reserving, that the last week of winter season is so bleak. Lots of places were closed or closing. We stayed in rm 101. If they tell you that the street noise in minimal...it's not. Snow plows and cars are maybe 20 ft from your window and door. They were quite loud. Our bed was broken. It made a loud squeaking noise with any movement. We asked to have it fixed and they said it couldn't be done. They offered to let us switch rooms, but who wants to move all of your gear in the snow to another room. There was no happy hour because it was low season. Bring lots of money for Aspen, things are very expensive. I do not think I will return. We didn't have fun. The on site laundry was good, we did our laundry while playing dominoes in the lobby. Our room was too small to hang out and there was no table or a chair to sit.

Freezing cold room. Telephone didn't work and had to be replaced. Trying to call room-to-room resulted in two 911 calls and a visit from the sheriff. Rude, condescending staff, perticularly the innkeeper. We left something in the room when we checked out and cannot get them to respond. Spend your money elsewhere. Aspen is too costly to put up with this kind of "service."
