This place is so desperate for business that they made us pay for the 2-night minimum even though we decided to check out after one night. Yes, the policy is clearly posted on their website. But the Lake was so gross and stinky and the place so boring we couldn’t bear a second night. The locals we met in town warned us not to go in the water and there is really nothing else to do there. Sad thing is there was only one other family in the entire resort-it’s not like anyone was waiting for a room or inconvenienced by our cancelled 2nd night.
The room was relatively clean by Clear Lake standards except for the fish hook in the carpet and a bad ant problem after we left a food wrapper out at night which the manager didn’t seem to believe when we reported it the next morning. They offered us a different room, but we couldn’t wait to get out of there and instead paid $200 for the second night and left. It hurt but was better than staying there. It's scary to post a review like this because they have my personal info. But I would advise fellow travelers to physically check this place out before you commit to a 2-night minimum stay.
We were reccomended to stay at Ferndale Resort. We were planning a fishing trip at clear Lake and needed a place that could handle a boat. The service we received to make our stay a great one was perfect. The rooms were clean and new and the view was great from the room. Having a boat launch and docks at the resort made our fishing stay a great one
