Southwood Shores Resort Condominiums, Lake Ozark

The condo was very clean and had a nice view of the lake. We liked the pool scene and the option of an indoor pool. A great experience.

It's a beautiful view but the place really needs to be upgraded for 115$ a night.I was jere 5 yrs agoin the same exact condo and they nedd to get new furniture because its like 1972 in here..the blinds are falling off the window just as they were 5 yrs ago..will definately stay at a different place next time..oh and they soneed new tv's..no one has big televisions with a back on it anymore & the tv in the bedroom is like 13' terrible.

The location was fine and the swimming pool was nice. From the outside the condos looked fine and maybe some of them were. However, the one I stayed in was gross. The condo was not clean at all and the very dated decor made if feel even less clean. Carpets were visibly filthy with crumbs of things everywhere. Standing in the kitchen to do dishes you could see the layers of filth on cabinets and the backsplash. The kitchen trashcan was caked with filth. Bedroom blankets and linens looked dirty and were therefore comletely uninviting. The living furniture also looked dirty and uninviting. Kitchen closet door was broken and water didn't drain well in bathtubs. Trim was dirty and coming off in multiple places throughout the entire condo. I stay in a condo to provide additional amenities and comforts while on vacation and unfortunately this was a huge disappointment.

My girlfriends and I had never been to the Ozarks and picked Southwoods Shores Condos to stay at because of the location and price. Overall, we rated it a 3 out of 5 because of location, price and amenities, but had a couple issues: 1. The hot water heater breaker had been shut off. Imagine our surprise when we tried to use the faucets and showers and the only thing coming out was freezing water. The heater took about an hour to finallly heat up. Check the breaker when you first check in to your room! 2. After a LONG day of shopping at the outlet mall, we realized maid service hadn't come to give us fresh towels (we had 1 clean towel left in a room of 7 women). The office was closed by the time we realized the towel situation, so we just used the towels we brought for the pool. Upon checking out, I told the lady we didn't have maid service and she said that we were supposed to bring our room towels to the office when we wanted new ones. It would have been nice for the lady who checked us in to tell us this. We would have happily done it to get fresh ones...we just didn't realize maid service wasn't provided. By the way...DON'T lose one of the 2 room keys you get...they charge you $5 to replace the plastic key if someone in your party forgets to return it. Ridiculous for a piece of plastic if you ask me.

the last five years my family reunion has been held at another nearby resort. Disappointed to find that our reservations were lost, we had to reschedule somewhere else on a very short notice! Luckily i came across southwood shores. I found the website to be very helpful. I was even able to view the condos we were going to stay in. Then had the pleasure of working with the over-the-top friendly staff. Arriving we were pleasantly surprised to find a beautifully kept property with the variety of flowers, new playground, park area, tennis courts and the pools. The rooms were in emmaculate condition, very clean, all supplies available to us including a crock pot, most importantly comfortable! Then able to accomodate all ages of our family with the fishing on the docks, indoor pools, hot tubs & swim dock was a miracle in itself! To think of all the years we've been spending so much more to have so much less! Every future reunion for this family will be held at southwood shores!
