Edgewater Resort At Taylorsville Lake, Taylorsville

We stayed at Edgewater for the 20007 Kentucky Derby and will stay there again. The cottages are nicer than any typical hotel room, it had a hot tub, gas fireplace, a spa, and the shuttle service they provide was easy and very inexpensive compared to some of the other places we stayed. We will be back!

David & Becky T. from Frankfort, KY We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary the weekend before Christmas at Edgewater. We stayed in the first cottage on the left and fell in love with it! Even though it is only 40 minutes from home we felt like we were in a different world. The cottage was spotless and decorated with much taste. There's no doubt someone put a alot of thought in making their guests feel right at home. The hot tub was great and had a great view of the lake and marina. We were so impressed that we've shared our stay with all our family and friends and plan to return when we can bring our boat. Can't wait!!!!! Thanks for a relaxing and much needed getaway. This place was so wonderful, especially the Spa. The staff was very pleasant upon arrival, the cottages were beautifully decorated, and sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars was so peaceful. We went out on the canoes, hiked the trails, and finished our night with massages at Edgewater's Spa. The staff was very accomodating when we needed to change our time to launch the canoes. I loved the blue cottage we stayed in!

These brand new cottages are located on the shore of Taylorsville Lake, just a short distance from Louisvlle, KY. The interiors are comfortable, extremely well appointed and very clean. They offer many extra amenities (such as a hot tub on a deck overlooking the beautiful lake) and are close to the marina. The resort is quiet and peaceful and, being located in a Kentucky state park, is ideal for a relaxing vacation of sunning, reading, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, biking, boating, canoeing, etc. It will only get better as the many planned amenities are added, including a club with swimming and tennis, playgrounds, boat docks, picnic areas, etc. Bikes and canoes are already available for the use of resort guests. It is only a short drive to the many fine restaurants and other attractions of Louisville, including such tourist attractions as the Louisville Slugger Bat Factory, the Muhammad Ali Museum, the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs, etc. The resort staff is capable, friendly and helpful. You should book your stay well in advance, as most resorts in Kentucky State Parks fill quickly.
