G & M Cabins, Lake City

The G&M Cabins are centrally located, being walking distance from Lake City's restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Our cabin was spaceous, well insulated so we could turn off the heating at night and had all the amenities associated with a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a lounge and patio. The wireless internet worked well at all times. Jacqui, the manager, was very attentive to our needs and made our stay a very pleasant one. The price is a little high for 1 night, but we were given an incremental discount for each night we stayed there, which was 9 nights. I would and did recommend G&M to my friends. The only regret was that we didn't get to see the Mother Bear & 2 cubs as they walked by our cabin one day!

Lake City is a small mountain community, so people staying here are looking for something rustic to connect with the local culture. The G&M Cabins are in a great location, walking distance to several restaurants. Rooms are spacious and clean, neighbors are fabulous and many come back year after year. The manager is extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

We recently vacationed in Lake City and stayed in Cabin No 5 at G&M. The cabin was clean, up-to-date and had all the amenities. The managers were friendly and were available for any needs such as extra towels and etc. The problem we had was all of the excessive noise directly behind the cabins from the LC locals. There is an alley behind the cabins which has a lot of traffic and also there is a new restaurant (Packer Saloon & Cannibal Grill) that offers plenty of noise day and night. But our biggest complaint was from a house directly behind the cabin where the dogs barked constantly all night and the woman living there argued with her kids and then yelled and cussed out her boyfriend into the wee hours of the morning. And this went on for days and all took place in the backyard so it just echoed throughout. It led to restless nights and was not a nice quiet place to stay as we had expected.

G&M Cabins is the best place to stay in Southwestern Colorado. The cabins are located in the middle of historic Lake City and retain the character of original Western Tourist Cabins. We loved the cleanliness and unique landscaping on the site, the quality of the cabins themselves and the proximity to downtown Lake City. The managers are attentive and eager to please. We plan to go back every summer.
