Sorry - Won't be back
I made a reservation in January, picked a cabin, and planned a visit with a small group of friends. The promised cabin had 2 bedrooms and a living room, which would work out great for the 6 people staying there.
When I arrived, I was told I was moved to a 1 bedroom cabin because "when we have maintenance issues, we need to move people". I was never informed of the change, and there was someone else staying in the cabin I reserved! Since it was only for a couple nights, I just let it go, but I will never visit this "resort" again.
The cabin I did receive was clean enough. As for value, it certainly was not a good one. There were other properties around Lake City I would have rather stayed at.
The new owner has decided to build big log homes all over the resort. Be careful if you stay in one because there are gaps in the log walls. At night it is amazing to see all the slivers of light showing though - and this in square logged structures that are supposed to be sealed with foam strips between the logs and then screwed together. If you are there in the winter, it will be an interesting time.
My recommendation? Find someplace else to stay. Plenty of better values in Lake City.
