There are much better places to stay in Mammoth
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/2/07
1. Overpriced... They aimed to have a "cozy, elegent" atmosphere, but in reality, cozy = small. Compared to other resorts in Mammoth Lakes which are elegent, the MCI was extremly overpriced.
2. Pet Friendly: Good for the dog lovers, not for the wallet. A whopping $25 a night extra charge to keep your pet there. Maybe it would be worth it if they manged to clean the dog fur and urine smell out of the rooms for the next guest,
3. $4.95 breakfast was the worst food i've ever eaten. I have had better food on an airplane. Warm, cold cut ham and cheese, chunky oatmeal, and canned orange juice. The coffee was better at the gas station then the hotel.
4. Staff: very uninterested. No manager (FYI).
5. Hottub: Nice feature, to bad it is in the basement in a cold, dark, concrete room.
6. Charge for internet access.
7. Parking lot is very crammed and dangerous in the winter. It is hard enough to get in and out of the lot without the ice and snow to slow you down.
Overall: Would not stay there agian. The beds were very comfortable, but the walls are thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. The yellow linoleum in the bathrooms was disgusting, a total turn off. Nails sticking out of the floor, mildew smell. Plumbing problems are consistant. The two times I stayed there the plubers were there, with the water to the hotel shut off. Location is close to Vons, and thats about it. Nice view if your the half of the hotel with a view, otherwise your staring at an alley and a dark building.
BOO!
