Too Pushy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/08
We decided to take a mini-vacation to Wmsburg... we live about 2 hrs away. We had toured this property previously, when we were upgrading our Wyndham timesharing points, and we had high expectations. At check-in we had to get our parking permit from the concierge, who was really someone from sales. They ask if they can schedule you to participate in a "satisfaction survey", but they are really scheduling you for a sales pitch. The sales staff is VERY pushy and do not take "NO" for an answer. Our unit was a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit. They layout of the unit is excellent and it is very roomy. However, some furniture is very worn (the arms on one chair in the living room was down to threads and padding.

GREAT PLACE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/08
We loved this place it is perfect for families to be close to the parks and everything. We had a huge family of 5 adults and 4 kids (4,4,9,13). We all enjoyed it! The friendly staff was great, the kids loved them so much that when we bought pizza they wanted to bring them a slice! They have computers, mini golf, 2 pools (1 indoor, 1 outdoor)and an activities room. Our rooms we're clean and wonderful. It is also nice and quiet perfect for doing some work. My only complanit would be the pools, I thought they could have been just a little cleaner and less crowded, but they can't really control the crowding guests. So overall it was great!! I would definetly recommend this resort and we are going back this year!

Great Place to Vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/08
We rented a timeshare from an owner. I must say that we were very impressed. We did not want to stay at a hotel because we have 3 children. A hotel room is impossible with 3 children. There are endless things to do at this resort and we took advantage ever one. Also they have discount tickets available. We hated to leave! Williamsburg is wonderful. We could go every year!

Overall Disappointing Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/08
My family and I stayed at Governor's Green over the Christmas week in 2007. Overall, our accommodations and ammenities did not live up to our expectations. (Disclaimer - we did not stay in a presidential suite as they had all been booked by the time we reserved. Our unit was 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.) Here are a few problems we encountered: 1. The unit's furnshings were outdated and worn. 2. There was a broken dining room chandelier that was only hanging by its power cord when we arrived. (It was fixed at our request.) 3. The televisions were embarrassingly small and old. (They couldn't have been more than 25-27 inches and had horrible sound and picture. Call me picky, but I expect more modern technology for the price we paid.) 4. The "state of the art" gym was pathetic. The weight machine was torn in multiple places, the only eliptical machine was being held together by duct tape, there were no free weights, the floor was dirty, the room was constantly out of towels, and there was no hand sanitizer or spray. (I used the gym 6 of our 7 days and each morning it looked like no one had even come in to straighted up from the day before. Did I mention that the gym doesn't even open until 7am?) It does have a large plasma TV, though - maybe the owners think this makes the gym worthy of a "state of the art" title? Not quite. We did have a pleasant experience at the pool (indoor pool is heated - nice touch) and spa (we purchased massages), but neither was exceptional. My recommendation would be to stay at Kingsgate over Governor's Green any day. Oh, and if you are called on your first day for a "satisfaction survey," skip it at all costs - it's just a sales pitch. (Or reschedule for the last day of your stay and tell them what you REALLY think of the place!)
