No dislikes, what so ever! Kevin and Cindy are the nicest people I have met, that run an establishment like everyone is family. Facility is rustic, clean, excellent location to the Lake, close to everything you need. We WILL be going back, hopefully many, many times! 6 Stars out of 5!
A group of us stayed there for the 2012 Tough Mudder event. It's a very nice little town - very scenic. Twin oaks is older BUT VERY CLEAN. Although older they are very well maintained and the owners are SO friendly. It was nice to support a family business. Room had mini fridge and cable TV...although can't see spending much time in room when visiting such a scenic place. I typically don't stay at 'off brand' places but would recommend Twin Oaks because it is so clean and the beds were soft. Showers had good hot water and good water pressure as well. No complaints would go back.
Biggest bang for the buck! Kevin and Cindy are the nicest people you ever could meet. Great location and ease of use of amenities. I have been coming to this resort since the 1980's. I plan to continue my annual visits to the rustic accomodation.
We were looking for a place to stay during Deer Season and a "local" recommended Twin Oaks.We stopped by to check them out and let me tell you--the owners have to be from another planet because they were the best. I mean-- so friendly and helpful....It really amazed us...Anyway-We made our reservations with them and had a very pleasant stay and one of the most awesome hunts on record..The man there has an inside scoop on Deer behavior! He put us on 'em!! As far as the rooms---they are not the most up to date rooms we have been in--But,they were clean...Service--Well--how about the guy brakeing out his own tools and changing a flat tire on our truck...then takeing it to get it fixed while we hunted..THEN..when we got back-he took the spare off and put the fixed back on..And wouldn't take a penny for his help... Folks---It was a memorable, amazing experience! We'll be going back next year and maybe this comeing summer.I'll bet the place is beautiful during their on season.Well, Merry Christmas to All and have a Healthy- Happy- Prosperous New Year!!! ;)
the owners were very nice the rooms clean close to the lake
the down side the porch on the building we stayed in needed repair and the beds were very old and not very comfortable but theye wrer still better than camping and sleeping in a tent the weather was real hot and the single ac unit in our two room kitchenette hard a hard time keping up
I loved Twin Oaks! I was there in the off-season (late April) and it was absolutely wonderful! The owners were so kind and helpful and flexible! I even arrived a day early! I am planning to go back this year for spring break!
Kevin an Cindy were AWSOME! I came in last min to for a family funneral and when they found out the extended my check out time and told me to take my time and not to worry about it. What compasion, not to mention it was a real cool place to stay. They have my bussiness for life. I even decided to go back the next week with a few days off since it was affordable. My first impresion was "what a great place" but now knowing the pepole who run it are just the best folks I have ever meet, down to earth and just wonderful.
We have known Kevin and Cindy for almost two decades. They take great care in our and others satisfaction. There isn't any place that we have been in our travels that have kinder people than they are. They on the other hand do not put up with loud drunken disorderly behavior. It would appear to me that the comments left by-"Disappointed" are the ramblings of someone that was removed from the premises. It really appears to be more of a personal assault than a review...My wife and I, our children and grandchildren absolutely love Twin Oaks !!! As well do several of our friends.I hope you enjoy your stay with them as much as we do.Believe me,when you stay with them, you will see for yourself ---there is NO TRUTH to "Disappointed's"review.--Pastor John H.
