I couldn't have asked for anything more.
By ,
We had an excellent stay in Santa Cruz at this great hotel. Everything had been very nicely updated using quality materials. It was so nice having a separate bedroom so one of us could sleep while the other stayed up and watch TV in the living room. Our host was very gracious and in many ways you felt more like you were staying in a B&B than a hotel. Very friendly and helpful. The small facility has an intimate feel about it. Halfway between Santa Cruz and Capitola there was no shortage of places to eat for all budgets and a couple of places you can easily walk to. Beaches are also really close. Very quiet during the evening without a lot of traffic noise. Although I hesitate to tell anyone about this place to increase my chances of something being available next time, the Pelican Point Inn was really excellent in every way. It has become my place to stay when I'm in Santa Cruz.

a great getaway place is here
By ,
Whether your traveling with a large family or just the two of you, this is the place to stay. A charming cottage-like home with all the amenities and comfort to have your own private romantic liason or kicking back with good friends and family. A very short walk to the beach and any stress I was carrying became a thing of the past. We enjoyed browsing the shops and eating delicious seafood in downtown Capitola. At the end of the evening, it was so relaxing to sit on the deck overlooking the ocean from the second story master bedroom. I couldn't help but wish this home away from home was mine. I have to give thanks to the exceptional courtesty that was provided. I met the owners at the main inn and was taken to the vacation house by following him in his car. Along the way I was given a short scenic tour in case I wanted to know how to get to Capitola, then personally shown the house. I don't know many establishments that would have done that. Would I stay here again, Absolutely!

Great family place
By ,
I choose this hotel because of the other reviews I read. They are all correct. This is a very Mom and Pop place, but very clean, and excellent facilities for a family stay. We had the two room suite, each with a Queen bed, TV, and dressers. There is a common area with a breakfast nook, full kitchen facilities, and common bathroom. All was very clean and felt new. Lots of interesting shops around, including places to buy groceries and such. We didn't go to beach, but it was close by. No real front desk facilities, but the people are very friendly and everything you need is close by. I would recommend.

Great Value Near the Ocean
By ,
This excellent Hotel is a block from the ocean and consists of a kitchen, living room and separate bedroom. It is a mom and pop type motel, but super clean, in great condition and the owners are charming. We walked the ocean and found lovely and yummy seafood restaurants right on the water. You will not be sorry if you book here.

Excellent Quality and Value
By ,
The Pelican Point Inn is a small family owned and operated property in the upcoming Live Oak - Portola neighborhood on East Cliff Drive. It is a five-minute walk to Twin Lakes beach/park and there are a number and variety of restaurants (and a grocery market) within easy walking distance. The property has recently been completely renovated and refurbished with quality fixtures and a tasteful decor. All the rooms feature a complete kitchenette and there is WiFi and plug-in Internet access. There are three room configurations all featuring one or two queen beds and all are non-smoking. The owners are on site and are friendly and accommodating giving the place a very personal feel. These folks also have a very nice beach house (with an ocean view) for rent in Aptos across from Seacliff State Beach. We believe the Pelican Point features an excellent combination of quality, value, and convenience in the Santa Cruz area.

Nice place!
By ,
This inn was apparently remodeled recently. Everything in the room feels new and clean. The hardwood floor is great, keeping away the musty smell of damp carpet, especially in a place as close to the beach as this. The manager is a friendly Asian woman with an always smile. We will come back again next time we are in Santa Cruz.
