So here is my opinion, if you are looking for a place to park your RV while visiting the Monterey/Salinas area it is fine. It is about a 30 min drive to the coast, and perhaps 40 mins to Monterey. The management staff has recently changed for the better as we have stayed here a couple of times during the last few months so that is good. The pull thru spaces are easy to get in and out of. The park could use some general cleaning up but it is easy access on and off Hwy 101. However if you are looking for a vacation destination in the RV park itself this is not the place for you. So depending on the purpose of your stay would determine my decision of whether to stay or not. There is a nicer RV park in Marina, CA (near the beach) but it is also quite a bit more expensive.
We camped here for several nights, made reservations over the phone. This was as the other person mentioned, a parking log next to a freeway. Definate highway noise. I'd compare more to a mobile home park than an rv campground. Narrow sites, with only a half sized picnic table, next to a hedge, the otherside, directly next to your neighbor's RV. Not a place you want to hang out outside...the showers were in a dark basement, not inviting...however, the pool was fine and it was close to some resaurants. This is more of a spend the night on your way somewhere else, definately not a destination park.
If you want to park in an ugly parking lot, this is the place for you.
This place is next to a very busy highway so the it's quite noisy. Not to mention many of the people who LIVE THERE.. have dogs and they bark at all hours...
The staff is rude over the phone. Bathrooms are very outdated. Showers have shower curtains that are barely hanging there. The hedges surrounding the sites are half dead. They say they have cable hook ups for TV but you only get about 6 fuzzy channels.
I was just greatfull that this was an RV park where we brought our clean beds with us. Had this been a hotel I would never have stayed. I will not stay there again.
