Gobbler's Mountain Resort, Reeds Spring

We requested one bedroom cabin to enjoy peaceful, four day vacation with partial privacy from this "resort". To our surprise, we've been showed to studio apartment in the main building right next to the main office, with patio sharing the walkway to the office. So much for the privacy and the ability to put our three year old to the bed in separate room to enjoy the TV and ourselves without disrupting the child's sleep! After the frustrating and disrespectful discussion with the staff, the grand finale was the owner kicking us out on the street with these exact words - "You have five minutes to pack up your s..t and getta f..k out'here", without returning our reservation advance fee of $150. So, at five o'clock PM, my four month pregnant wife, our three year old daughter and I, together with our dog, were kicked out on the street because my frustration disrespected the "ladies", as the owner called his staff. Not mentioning that they accused me of cussing at them, probably covering their mistake of somehow missing to notify me at the time of the reservation about the fact that the unit they reserved for me was a studio apartment, not a one bedroom cabin (it is always easier to put the blame on somebody else, even if it is the customer, especially, when you know the boss will stay on your side despite the obvious mistake). If you are wondering how this could happened, these guys are incapable of sending a confirmation email. They simply do not do it, as I was informed at the time of the reservation. Thus, I acted on the assumption of dealing with competent people running simple business, and believed the information I received over the phone. Summarizing the situation, this group of people completely destroyed our vacation. Please feel free to book with them, if you like ignorance, insecurity in what are you actually getting into, and a free spirited minds with somewhat limited level of education (the ladies emphasized to me throughout the discussion several times that they consider the studio apartment to be a cottage, since it is located in the main building, which, in their opinion is a cottage in itself). You'll get plenty of all. If you like reliability, responsibility, and decent conduct, look somewhere else.

Awesome view from every cabin, totally remodeled and updated, swimming pool, hot tub, boat rentals, boat slips, boat ramp!! Need I say more........ We love gobblers mountain resort and so will you!!! New owners with lots of pride in this beautiful resort!!!

The only thing good was the location to the lake, besides that it was terrible. We rented a 2 bedroom cabin/house that stunk like mold and mildew and the first night we were there the ceiling tile fell from all the water pooring from the unit above. We had to catch all the water in our own containers and since it was 10:00 at night, there was no one to contact until the next morning and the owners acted like we were putting them out when we told them about it. He checked upstairs and decided it was the toilet leaking (gross) when it filled up and asked the people up there not to use the toilet in there unit (hope they had 2). Anyway it wasn't the toilet, had to be the shower because it did like 3 times after that in the same day. By this time the carpet was getting wet and they tried to tell us it was a shadow on the floor. This was not the only problem(just the biggest), also the toilet never wanted to flush unless you used the plunger at the same time (which we had to ask for one) and the place overall was not very clean. We had 2 bedrooms, if you want to call it that since the walls separating them didn't go to the ceiling. Needless to say we found a new place after the 2nd night and left. They weren't apologetic for our troubles nor did they offer to move us to other accomidations within the resort and they weren't even full. I would suggest to anyone thinking about this resort to change your mind.
