Avoid at all costs
This is the worst experience I've ever had at any lodging accomodation in a lifetime of travel. I made a reservation with the Happy Valley Lodge upon seeing their quaint A-frames on their website. I was a little taken back by their request for a check to hold the reservation, but accepted it as another measure of "quaintness". However, when I arrived at the Lodge, the management was not on premise, instead leaving a sign that they would be back after lunch (this was at 2:30pm). In addition, the sign indicated that we were in room 7, which was not the A-frame I reserved, additionally, there was no way to access the room because it was locked. Because I was on a short schedule and had no idea when management would return, my girlfriend and I arranged other accomodations. Upon reaching the management of Happy Valley later in the evening via phone they indicated there would be no refund? Nor would there be a voucher issued for a future stay. I consider these business practices to be more or less equivalent to fraud and would strongly suggest anyone even considering the Happy Valley to look elsewhere.
