Comfort Inn Monterey, Monterey

We visited Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Brentwood,Capitola and Milpitas in a quick 8 day trip. Had planned to go to San Francisco for a day but was so impressed with the stay here we shuttled San Fran and returned for a third night. Nicest place we stayed on the whole trip and we wanted to see more of Monterey. Well manicured landscape, a wonderful view from the balcony, quiet..did not even realize airport nearby. Continental breakfast was great and more than we expected. Room was awesome! Have already recommended to friends. Will definitely stay here on a return trip..

All those compliments offered by previous reviewers are right on. Stayed overnight before a meeting at the Hyatt, which is about 2 miles down the hill and nearly twice the price. If you don't need or have time for the amenities offered Hyatt, this is a great choice. Considering a return to this Comfort Inn during 3-day conference based at Hyatt next year even despite the lack of on-site exercise facility.

We were pleasantly surprised by this Comfort Inn. It was clean, quiet (yes, next to the airport and we were not bothered by noise), and well appointed (microwave and refrigerator). Excellent value.

We were married at Tarpy's (The restaurant down the road which my great great granfather built!) in September 2007 and all of our guests stayed at the Comfort Inn. The rooms were huge, which was very convenient since my bridal party used two of them to dress for the ceremony!!! We were especially pleased with the "split" walk-in closet style format that enclosed the huge closet, a dressing area, a vanity with sink and mirror from the rest of the room ...and the bathroom (with another sink and mirror, as well as the toilet and shower) was seperate from that (on the other side of a door). It was miraculously convenient!!!! The whole place was very peaceful and quiet, the staff were friendly, the grounds were well-kept, the area was gorgeous (really gets you "out of the city" even though it's located by an airport, right off the Salinas-Monterey Highway!!! And still no noise at all!!!) and the rooms were all pristinely clean. I would never recommend anywhere else to stay when you're in Monterey!! Especially if you're getting married at Tarpy's!

Just outside of Monterey but worth the short drive. Motel is located near small airport but there was no plane noise noticed. Surrounded by trees and flowering bushes. Laguna Seca only 4 mi. away. Monterey, Carmel and Pacific grove only 10-15 minutes away. Room was very clean! 2 sinks - one with vanity and one with toilet and bath making it easier for more than one person to use sink. Staff were very helpful! Continental breakfast included waffles, cereals and breads. Would definitely stay there again!

This is a great place. Located in nice woody area. very clean room. very friendly staff (and helpful too). best breakfast. Great room rate. It's about 10 minutes drive from Monterey but believe me, it's worth it!! If I ever go back to the area, I definitely will come back to this place.

the only downfall I found to this hotel was the bed too hard, and the noise level from the upstairs room. otherwise, the service, and reception were outstanding

My husband and I stayed here recently and it was a great experience. The room was huge and we had our own private balcony. Gas fireplace in room as well as wireless internet service. It is not in downtown but it gets you away from the hustle and bustle when you get back to your room and want to relax. It is only five minutes to downtown if not less. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting more than to be downtown. The downtown area is very busy and once I drove by a few of the other hotels I had considered, I am glad I chose this one.

This was a great place to stay. They have everything: frig, micro wave, iron and coffee maker in the room. The price was better than downtown and the rooms are huge. The grounds are almost park like. We also had a balcony with chairs. It was very quiet and roomy. They have a small continental breakfast. I will most definitely stay here again on our next trip to Monterey.
