Nice outside, dumpy inside

Location is very nice and the setting is beautiful (lawns, pond), BUT there are some real drawbacks. When we checked in we found the unit had a strong odor of mold-mildew and urine. From the scratch marks along the window panes, I suspect animals, perhaps rats or raccoons, had been trapped in the unit during the winter. Also the carpet was very old and coming up at places, exposing sharp nails. The furniture was strictly thrift store quality, complete with non-stop dripping faucets, old brown and green 1970's couch with no spring left, and a toilet with a messed up flush mechanism.
'Rustic' is hardly the right word to describe the accommodations, I think 'resort slum' is a better fit. Last point was that there were blue rings on the sinks indicating copper in the water (which tasted very metallic), so if you bring children remember to also bring water to drink as copper usually also means lead is present (I got blank a look from the manager when I mentioned this).
