Nice location, but....

Location of resort is great, on the outskirts of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, but the rooms are in dire need of updating. We are Wyndham owners (not here, at another location) and we were VERY disappointed in the unit. It was set up EXACTLY like the units at Pagosa Springs, Colorado where we stayed in May 2007, but with no coffee table or 2nd end table to the couch.
The bedding was the WORST of the dozen or more Wyndham resorts we have stayed at. There was no fiberfill pillow onsite to be found when I called and asked because I'm allergic to feathers. I waited after reporting this 3 times over 3 days before stopping at Walmart (just down the street) and buying one for $5. Guess they never heard of using petty cash to satisfy a customer!
Then the mattress was long past the point of needing replaced. My back ached the whole week and the other side of the bed was no better. I would feel very ripped off if I was paying maintenance fees, because they are NOT maintaining these units well at all.
Indoor pool was nice, but couldn't use the outdoor much, even at the end of May as it was much colder. But when you design your outdoor pool to be in the shade of the afternoon, that is what you get. This was at the registration/activities bldg., which are the original pools - the newer buildings on the hillside have the outdoor pool in view of the sun... if you wanted to hike up the hill to that building or wait for a shuttle! If they run their shuttles like I waited for good pillow, well, I'd still be waiting!
