Mountain Shadows Resort, Gatlinburg

My wife and I stayed at Mountain Shadows Resort in #38 for 3 nights. It was great to get away by ourselves (we have 3 young children). We liked having a kitchen so we could save money by eating breakfast there. We usually packed lunch to eat while we were in the park, but it was nice having a refrigerator to hold our food. The love seat inside which individually reclined was great. We enjoyed watching cable TV after a long day of hiking. Lastly, the outdoor hot tub was nice and big - plenty of room for two people. Two minor caveats. It was a smoking cabin - i.e. someone had been smoking in it. If you are really sensitive to that you might ask for non-smoking cabin if such exists. The other minor thing was that there wasn't much in the way of glasses - I think we had four. But, we didn't really cook while there so that wasn't a big deal. Anyway, keep the smoking thing in mind, but it was a great place to go as a couple and we are missing the hot tub already!
