Be sure you are clear about all policies. When we checked in, we inquired about breakfast. The desk clerk said he could make a reservation for us the following morning at the inn. We were not given a time, simply told we could show up anytime after 9:15. There was a blinding rainstorm the next morning and we never made it to breakfast. When we checked out 3 days later, nothing was ever said about the missed breakfast reservation. When we got our credit card bill, we noticed a $48 charge. I called and was told that the charge was for the missed breakfast. I was shocked and explained that the clerk never told us that we would be charged for breakfast whether we ate it or not. The woman I spoke with told me that she had called our cabin numerous times. Because of the rain, we were stranded in the cabin until late in the afternoon and the phone never rang. Bottom line: they refused to credit us. By the way, not only did they charge us for a breakfast we never ate, but they added on a tip to boot! Bad business? You be the judge.
