Self Creek Lodge & Marina, Kirby

Having found this resort on a Google search we were pleasantly surprised with how beautiful it turned out to be! We went in the beginning of February so it was delightfully peaceful and quiet - hardly anyone was around. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend of relaxation. The 2 bedrooms were both nice and well furnished. The kitchen was airy and the dining room table was lovely! I particularly liked that we could bring our dog. The hot tub was wonderful and nothing beat sitting in front of the fireplace making smores.

My family and I stayed here March 2007. We loved it! The cabins are wonderful. Be sure to ask to a lakeview and not a marina view in order for your cabin to overlook the water. The kitchens are spacious and easy to prepare food it. Dining is convienient at the dining room table, in the living room, or the dining table outside on the deck. Each bedroom is large and welcoming. The hot tub and the grill on the deck were also put to good use while we were there. Pets, boats, fisherman, swimmers, families, or just couples are all welcome. Great hospitality, wonderful people, and the perfect place to get away from it all. The cabins are all new in 2007. Remember though to bring groceries with you since this mountain hideaway does not have a large supermarket. Although some basic items such as chips, sodas, and frozen pizzas can be purchased at the Marina office. Overall it was a wonderful place with a great view and very peaceful too!
