Black Meadow Landing is a vacation and retirement resort on Lake Havasu/Parker Dam offering RV rentals and sites, hotel/motel rooms, camping, boating, fishing, golfing, bird watching, rentals and unique packages.
From arriving to Black Meadow we were treated horrible by the employee at front desk. Spent over $1,500 in beach rv hook ups to hotel rooms plus all the money we spent having guests come visit, restaurant, and gas station on premises and we didnt expect top of the line service; however we just wanted treated fair. We kept our camp/rooms very clean, respected the property and were just trying to enjoy a family vacation. The front desk had nothing nice to say and acted we interrupted their business by coming and staying. We switched our annual vacation from Lake Powell to Black Meadow; they couldve had our business annually and forget that. We will gladly pay double that to stay anywere but their "resort". Everybody in our group has agreed they have never been treated so poorly, Ever! We are pretty easy to get along with and have never had such problems with places we visit. I would never reccommend staying here. I tried telling owner all the complaints including being called A-holes by the staff and she laughed saying I was lying and she wasnt going to do anything. Never again will I stay hear and please dont waste your time or money.
Thanks for all of your reviews on this place. We were just there from MI to check it out and thought it was beautiful...even liked the burros. BUT after hearing all of these unfortunate reviews there is NO WAY we would EVER waste our time. THANKS AGAIN and SHAME ON BLACK MEADOW LANDING MANAGEMENT
Was very excited to get there and hang uot with my family (Children and Wife). I decided to play a little music while we had sandwhiches by the water. I was approached and bullied by the owners friend who immediately insisted that I turn my music off and leave the campsite, becauase I had violated a strict no noise tolerance at the site. Well guess what we did not turn it off instead lowered it to a level that we could speak over the music and have a good time. ten minutes later, we had the Dummy that posed as a security guard and the owner demanding that we leave immediately because we had violated a strict no noise policy. They were louder than the music with there loud demands. No one else on the beach complained, only the fellow with a white beard and small dog that is the owners best friend, and thinkhs he is a guard of some sort.. Unless you want to get in trouble on your fun weekend for having a loud generator, your children being to loud or just simply being targeted for having a good time, stay away from this Shi? Hole... Good buy, hello 50 other resorts to choose from, you can keep your donkeys and donkey Shi?.......
we visited there before and stay wasnt to good but now we will be back. Had problems before but now the visit was great. Went to the cafe there and you must check out the new style food . I recommend you try the chicken fried steak its like what your mom or grandmother would make you at home.
Friends of ours invited us to meet them there. We rented a room in the overpriced motel section. Our room had water dripping from the ceiling onto one of the beds. I took a shower and had a 3" long roach crawl up my leg. When we complained, management was extreamely unsympathetic and they refused to refund us our money. We left our daughter with our friends at their campsite and drove to a casino hotel in Parker. The next morning we drove back to BML to pick up our kid and they wanted to make us pay $6.00 per person plus $6.00 for our car just to pick up our kid! I had to threaten them with calling the police if they didn't let me in to get our daughter out of there. Staff was very rude. They treat you like you are trying to rip them off or something and they have a charge for everything. The clerk at the store was a grumpy older man, when asked about ATM withdrawls, instead of just telling me, he pointed to sign behind him and said rudely, "...it's all right there." And the store is very overpiced. The restaurant is dirty and the food sucks! The place is a dump! It's too bad, because the location has a lot of potential to be a great place.
You would think after 30 years I would learn. I'm done! The owner [George] has no idea on customer service, ethics, morals, quality, or any basic business valuse. Stay clear...do not go here! This place is terrible. Hopefully he sells or BLM kicks him out. The road is terrible and he thinks he can fix it. He needs to go to quite, throw in the towel!!!
Nothing changed at BML after coming here for over 40 years. During our stay there was no water pressure at our site. Maintenance did nothing to fix it. When a leak was found, the owner came by and told the workers to fill in the hole-no repair. This is the mentality. The only repair to the road to BML is to patch it which makes it worse. There has been no upgrades to the campground except for the electricity. Everything else remains the same, year after year. If you complain you're told to leave within 24 hours. The owner doesn't listen to his customers. It's either 'my way or the highway'. One good thing in this computer age is we can voice our opinion but does the owner ever read them? It doesn't appear so. However, the land belongs to the Bureau of Land Management & hopefully someone there will read these reviews, take a look at BML and allow someone else to have the concession. The owner is no more than a caretaker of our land.
Some new boat docks were put in a few years ago and nothing has been done to keep them up. Some old ones are so bad, they're falling into the lake. The rates for a dock are dictatorial because whether you have one for a week or a month it's the same price according to the information we got from someone in the office. Outrageous!
The restaurant is a joke. Rarely anyone is in there because the food is terrible. He's probably hoping the spring break and summer people will make up for the winter folks as the younger group will eat anything. My wife almost got sick on the Fri fish & chips special. It tasted like the oil was used so many times it needed to be thrown out.
Another joke is their method of billing. We paid for a month but only stayed for 26 days. You get 250kw of electricity; over that is 20 cents/kw. Our meter was read after being there for 17 days and we used 103kw. Upon leaving, we stopped at the office and were told we owed $10.00. At first the person said it was for the electricity, then he said it was the campground fee. We told him we would not pay as we hadn't used 250kw and we paid for a month. He didn't seem to know very much. We had to leave our vehicles & go into the office where he asked another employee what to do. She finally got onto her computer, did something and told us everything was OK. I guess they think all seniors are dummies and will pay whatever they are told.
Probably nothing will change because if you ask the snowbirds why they keep coming they say it's cheap. Where can you get a site on the lake for $310/mo. and use all the electricity you want for no additional fee. The sites on the lake(row A) as well as rows B &C have no meters. All the rest of the sites do. Not very fair, is it?
Any wonder why this was our last time?

The rooms are a disaster, roaches, animal apples all over the lawns (burros), noisy, terrible restaurant and no other choices.. however it is isolated from the Havasu crowds and mayhem. Boat launch is not crowded but primitive.
