Chateau La Mer II, Destin

Old, old, old facility and it shows. Pool is not maintained and water appeared dirty. Tennis court has long, deep cracks in the surface. Grounds were not maintained - grass was overgrown or dead, and most of the landscaping appeared to have been ignored for years. Playground was broken down and I did not feel comfortable letting my children play on it. Room was horrid-air conditioning made a horrible noise but produced no cold air. Carpet was soiled and smelled of mold. Tub had rings. Toilet bowls were stained. Although the unit had a kitchenette, the microwave did not work (turntable spun but food did not heat). About half of the light bulbs were burnt out. Blinds were broken. Unit looked nothing like picture from the website. Booked it for a week but only stayed one night. Other guests were loud and left broken glass in the parking lot. The last straw was loud sirens in the middle of the night from the local police responding to something in another unit. Owner would only refund half of my cost even though we only stayed one night. After saving up for a whole year to take my kids to the beach in Florida, I feel robbed.
