Calypso Resort and Towers by Waterstone Resorts, Panama City Beach

We located a first floor condo from a private owner. We had the perfect beach view and no elevators! Unloaded the car at our front door, then parked it for the week! Our only problem everyday was deciding what restaurant at Pier Park to walk to for dinner! Next year we are flying into the new airport. You really do not need a car - being so close to Pier Park. You just can't beat this location, and although we did not rent from Waterstone, the front desk was very nice and helpful

Calypso Resort was nice, great location but didnt not receive deposit back because of claimed damage that was done to the outside balcony railings???!!! I have never heard of such, what kind of damage can you do to a railing that is made of steel that can withstand high volumes of wind? Was suppose to get proof of damage by picture but got nothing but the runaround......This is just fyi, beware! As renters we are, to some degree, at their mercy when it comes to getting back your deposit. I have always been extremely careful when renting someones' property and was appalled at this accusation. Just wanted to warn the next possible renters

broken elevators, 3 am false alarms, rude staff and visitors, nothing provided in condo, list goes on and on..... Guess I missed the fine line somewhere..... red necks only.

Nice resort... next to pier park.. we stayed mid May and it was not too crowded... did not rent from Waterstone, but directly from an owner and got a great rate. we had 3 beds and 2 bathrooms on the 11th floor overlooking the the ocean... great views... our room was nicely appointed... we rented from http://www.calypsopcbrentals.com

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely condo with every upgrade! It's a 2 bedroom with additional bunk room and 2 baths. VRBO listing 164536. TV's for the kids in every bedroom and bunk. And what is really great is that it is right across the street diagonally from Pier Park, the place to be in Panama City Beach! Great shopping and restaurants with no driving. Just a short walk. AND it offers under tower parking. You just get out of your car and ride up the elevator to your lovely accommodations. Will definitely be returning.

Keep in mind this is a condo, not a hotel....but you might think it is....Somewhat new with finishing going on, but very nice. Found the complimentary movies, pool, and staff worked well with us. (off season) The water is crystal clear, feels like the Bahamas....Park your car and dont bother using it for a week..nice..... luxury units....granite, furniture ect. I think children should be old enough to be around sliding doors (fingers), balconies. good value, I would return.

We could not have made a better choice than staying in this condo! VRBO 82235 was beautifully upgraded and Felicia Crouch, the owner, has stopped at nothing to make your stay memorable! It is exactly as the website describes & the pictures do not do it justice. If you want a wonderful vacation experiense then you must contact Felicia!

We rented directly from the owner. Our stay began 8-25 thru 9-1-07. No waiting in check-in lines, just stopped at front desk to obtain a parking pass. Plenty of covered parking in the deck. We had a few minor issues with the condo, when we first arrived, however, upon calling the owner, they were addressed and corrected in a timely manner.(Very impressed with that). We were on the 14th floor, a breathtaking view, a beautiful condo. Would be honored to say in same condo next year, if we get to visit. No problems getting a cart on arrival or departure and the elevators were working our entire stay. Last day of our visit, someone had gotten sick in the East tower pool and it was closed for a few hours due to that. Overall, our vacation stay at Calypso, was as close to perfect as one can get. Will definitley stay again. Thanks.

WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE CALYPSO AGAIN! WE HAD A SERIES OF ISSUES, ONE ON TOP OF THE OTHER THE WEEK WE STAYED. FROM LOSS OF ELECTRICITY & WATER, TO WAITING FOREVER FOR THE ELEVATORS, AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. TO TOP IT OFF MANAGEMENT & CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS A "WE COULD CARE LESS" ATTITUDE.

First off I would like to say: The Calypso has the WORST STAFF ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!!!!! We stayed 7 nights at the Calypso. 3 of those hot days were without A/C and off and on without water. Construction of the TIKI bar that I was told on the phone was open, started at 6:30am. We never found a luggage cart our whole stay. I read another review that said it best, --- "We felt that the resort had the attitude of they were doing us a favor by letting us stay there." --- The staff were just all out rude, did not care about anyones problems. Everyone I talked to at the resort was having problems. We called the front desk many times and no one ever picked up. So we went down to the front desk and their attitude was, "And what do you want us to do about it". The resort had more terrorist then Iraq. These terrorist were all 12-14 year old kids staying there for a tournament of some kind. The parents of these kids just let them roam free and do what ever the hello they wanted. Pushing other kids in the pool, running & screaming in the middle of the night, riding and BREAKING the elevators. They were like packs of rabbit dogs. We called security and were as helpful as the front desk. . I heard of two different groups of people getting stuck in the elevators during our stay and the front desk did nothing to help get them out. The family members or other guest had to call 911. The elevators do not have A/C and are like ovens. The rooms are great, but the service was AWFUL! This was the worst vacation we have EVER had. We will never stay at the Calypso or even a Waterstone condo again.
