Make You Feel At Home
By Kevin, 10/05/09
I stayed at the Kuebler Waldrip Haus on 10/3/09 and from the moment I got there I was made to feel at home. It was like going to see family. I was greeted by Daryl who showed the house and explained everything about it. From the rustic wood to the old stones, this house was everything I had hoped for and everything I had read about. When you do go.....and I know you will.... make sure that Petra makes you some of her homemade tamales for breakfast, I'm coming back just for them. I would recommend this place to anyone that is coming to visit Gruene or New Braunfels. An absolutely great time.

Relaxing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/07
We loved it! The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, and getting to chat with the owner, and other guest in the morning was very nice. When you stay here you are made to feel like you are staying with a family member.

Great weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/07
My wife and I spent the weekend of March 16-18 here and we had a great time. The owners were super nice people. The rooms are very well kept and the breakfest each morning were wonderful. We enjoyed watching the deer come out at dusk. We are planning on returning next year - it's a great place to relax and enjoy each other (my wife).

a true taste of paradise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/06
"Getting away from it all" is only the beginning of why I recommend Kueble-Waldrip Haus. It's only a few minutes away from the surrounding cities of New Braunfels and Gruene, but far enough away to give you the open expanse of the country. It is "pure country" as you swing on a porch swing, sipping your complimentary wine (or home-made delicious cookies with secret ingredients that are not really secret...Daryl will give you recipes!) and listen to the crickets' chorus at nighttime. or watch the distant hillsides in the daytime. My stay even included watching some new kittens romp together, meeting the Waldrup family friend who is an artist from Jackson Hole and hearing about the artist city of San Miguel de Allende. My hosts were kind, engaging (but not intruding) and simply made me and my friends feel like one of the family, whether it was stimulating conversation over a delicious breakfast or just making sure we were having a great visit.

What a great experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/06
Four of us stayed in the Danville Schoolhouse schoolroom for two nights. It was so interesting to actually experience what it must have been like to be in a one room schoolhouse. We had breakfast two mornings in a beautiful old dining room and the food was fantastic. Truthfully, though, the best part of staying there was getting a chance to visit with Margy and Darrell Waldrip, the owners. We learned so much about the history of the place and just had a good time talking with them. They are the perfect hosts for a bed and breakfast. All four of us would heartily recommend staying in the Kuebler Waldrip Haus.

"My place" in the country
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/05/06
Kuebler-Waldrip House is one of a kind that has it all--history, charm, character, fabulous food, attentive and gracious hosts, cleanliness--in a unique setting, near to all the attractions of New Braunfels but with the feel of being in the country. It's a great place for a weekend treat (as well as retreat)or a special party or meeting. You are going to fall in love with this place; one visit, and you'll be coming back again and again.

Our favorite home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/05/06
For the past 13 years our family has been spending Thanksgiving holiday at the Kuebler-Waldrip Haus. I think that says it all. From the minute Margy and Darrell greet us with a hug and a smile until we bid our fond farewells, we enjoy cooking our own Thansgiving feast in one of their kitchens, eating the daily breakfast feast that they prepare and serve for us, shopping at the nearby outlet mall and taking in the annual craft fair at the New Braunfels Civic Center. We have stayed in nearly all the rooms and love to luxuriate in a bubble bath in one of the jacuzzis. Our children are now grown but they still enjoy getting to see and feed the deer up close and personal. And the tradition lives on as our grandchildren are now coming with us to enjoy this wonderful country experience.
